With OW2 now resorting to FACEIT for the esports scene. What is your thoughts on it?
I’d like to see standard matchmaking implimented in FACEIT personally. Using their own client app + Their anticheat it could go a long way to better matchmaking.
It couldn’t possibly be worse.

Faceit ( https://www.faceit.com/ ) is a 3rd party website that blizzard / overwatch now uses for teams hoping to enter the competitive scene and try to make a name for themselves.
My personal opinions on overwatch leagues has not changed from: I don’t care
But if people enjoy it, why not.

I don’t really care, because honestly OW will never have a successful competitive scene. ESports are only successful if people who don’t play the game can watch a professional match and enjoy watching it. OW is complex enough that unless you’ve played the game, you’ll never understand what’s happening in-game when watching it.

Overwatch always should have been a smaller local tournament type of competitive scene. Like smash bros.
The die hard fans support it. It’s not forced. Balance isn’t based on it. Hard metas exist but aren’t min maxed into the consciousness of the main player base.

im surprised that they had to resort to faceit for pro matches, i wouldnt mind faceit as an alternative to comp, but for the pro scene? Dont really care about pro scene bc its dead, but Faceit has been pretty good in CSGO, so i think it will be good to implement it into MM
I’d rather the esports aspect just die so they can stop catering to the .1% of players.
