Your rendering device has been lost with Iris Xe graphics

My Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Nano with Intel Iris Xe graphics is having the rendering device lost error on some occasion when I play it on medium or higher settings. What should I do?

I’m not sure if this meets the minimum specs for Overwatch, so I’m waiting to hear back about that.

In the meantime, I recommend checking for overheating. Laptops aren’t known for having good cooling setups, and most GPUs like that (integrated) aren’t meant for enduring gaming time.

Intel Iris Xe graphics is supposed to run smoothly when I play Overwatch on medium settings, but in my case, the graphics on my laptop occasionally crashes.

Did you check for overheating though?

How can you tell if a laptop is overheating?

Follow the steps on the link in my last post. There’s an app you download to monitor the temperatures.

I did use the HW Monitor and it did find that the the CPU temperatures were over 100 degrees celsius.

That means you need to play at lower settings, and it would be best to add a cooling pad when using the laptop.

Temperatures that high result in hardware failure, and is the reason the crashes are happening.

Even if I have lowered the graphics settings, I still have the rendering device lost error on occasions. I think my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Nano has a defective graphics card that depreciates when playing at higher settings. It should not happen normally.
