Both heroes were recently reworked.
What are your thoughts?
I think Symmetra is quite annoying, but she’s nowhere near OP.
Torbjörn is kind of on the bad side. His survivability isn’t the best anymore, though it’s not any worse. Because armor pack was removed, it’s harder to survive. His ultimate is very easily avoidable without graviton surge or earthshatter. I also had hoped his overload ability would give his turret level 3 temporarily.
I also wish Torb’s hammer would swing faster during overload.
the loss of their off support has hurt their survivabilty badly, but the turret mechanics have a much lower setup time making turret play easier
Don’t like either change, but especially Symmetra.
torb’s ult is countered by both dm and shields
if it could pierce shields it’d be pretty good but idk if it’d be too strong (his ult has an insane amount of counterplay though)
symmetra could use a primary fire buff and some animation speed increases (make turrets fly and activate faster, make tele spawn faster)

Symmetra is doing worse than before and needs to be reverted with tweaks or reworked again

They’re both pretty terrible and feel pretty awful to use.
Torbjorn didnt get his primary fire gutted like symmetra did. He got a burst heal on a decent cooldown and a very useful zoning ult. Symm got herself a buggy shadowstep and a tickle beam.

I think torbjorn is way better. The ult is kind of “eh” but at least there are combos out there now besides emp. I do miss turret level 3 but oh well.
Symmetra on the other hand is way different. As a diehard Sym fan, I can’t find the love of the hero anymore. Her chesslike playstyle is gone, and she’s even more inconsistent than before. At least before she countered cheese comp, now she counters nothing. The current iteration is very poorly designed tbh.

So true. All popular rework ideas by community have been tossed aside.
I think they’re both better. Torb no longer has to rely on his turret or scrap mechanics and neither he nor Sym have such a harsh defensive playstyle anymore.
Symmetra had many aspects of her kit reworked but still plays almost identically to her previous iteration +/- very few significant differences. The potential for what she can do was increased tremendously. Her overall damage is better, TP has potential to be OP, her turrets are better with better deployment mechanics as well as interaction with her TP, and she has an ult that can almost always be useful if used properly. There is also only one hero that can deal with her ult easily (Sombra) where as even a Valk Mercy could fly behind and kill TP/SG because they were literal sitting ducks that maybe 1 or 2 teammates every 10 games tried to protect. And no, allowing teammates to see them through walls would not entice them to defend the constructs.

Fixed it for you.

I like symmetra much more now, but it’s a shame she’s still viewed as underpowered by the community. I kinda wish they’d left her primary fire as it was before.
That said, her orbs and turrets more than make up for it in my opinion.
I like torb as well, but I can sympathize for fans of his old playstyle, as he has moved in a more standard direction. But I’ve always loved torb as a character more than a playstyle, and I’m glad hes not a troll pick anymore.
i can’t roll my eyes hard enough

Your entire team TPs to the point on Hanamura A for Attack. Wtf does the enemy team do?
That simple play alone is extremely difficult to counter. Protect the TP for two seconds with a shield and whoosh, you’re set up on point with your whole team and now the enemy team has to attack their own point, and getting into the point is much harder with such a strong defensive set up and no ults in play.
Explain how to counter that besides the entire enemy team setting up on point instead of at the choke.
that’s one map. Volskaya that can work too. Now what.

And Anubis and Horizon or really any 2cp map/hybrid map/multiple KOTH maps. Her strength on 2cp maps in general was increased 10 fold.
You also didn’t answer my question of how you counter it. The only realistic way imo is destroying the TP (which is why making its deployment quicker will make it undoubtedly broken). Only a few heroes by themselves are able to do this (because generally only one person will turn to shoot TP). That would be Bastion, Widow, Junkrat, Pharah. Really anyone with a 120dps burst can obliterate the TP before it’s active.
I didn’t answer because i know it can work but her TP is not OP. She’s just a TP bot. Look at Finland. They used TP on Hanamura and switched off after the first point.

I wouldn’t say she’s a TP Bot, but TP is why you pick Sym now. You pick Junk because he’s a great shield buster. You pick Zen for discoed or Lucio for speed.
Why is having a good ability worth picking her for automatically a label of some type of bot? It’s like saying Zen/Lucio are Discord/Speedboost bots.
