And that is just wrong. Why do people still believe that you need to queue up with “good” players to climb, if you are better than the elo you play on?
There are so many unranked to GMs. 99% of them are solo queue. There are even some from players who have a 4.1k peak.
After all I honestly believe that the people who think that the system is rigged are the players who truly believe that they should be higher.
Fun Fact: If you cant climb alone you shouldnt be higher at all and if you are not able to climb at all after ± 100 games you are in your true elo and ofc you will have like a 50% wr there. Its simple as that

yea gotta agree i got 5 sr away from diamond then got new acc throwers
i climb back up this season and after a 200 sr gain i then get 10 games in a row with
you guessed it, low acc, throwers, toxic ppl. recently unbanned ppl.

Because 50/50 is a real thing in T500 because everyone is pretty much evenly matched. You’d expect it.

50/50 in low ranks is just growing pain.

I dropped to gold as dps on this account despite being near diamond one tricking Hog and Zen. I have an alt where I basically just throw and it is in platinum, but when I try my best on this account, I lose. Rofl.

It is rigged IF you jack your mmr. The game thinks I can carry because I get like 27 killstreaks as Doom or 76 hacks as Sombra… But I just can’t. I am not THAT good, I am just not gold…

OP is talking about stats and worse team mates, not about leavers and throwers. I got it that he don´t like to play with people with less skill.

If you can’t carry your useless team you don’t deserve to climb, enjoy your negative SR.

That’s such a terrible metric of talent. No wonder people keep thinking stuffs rigged.

Overwatch is simply designed such that its really hard to cascade victory from a single player. In some shooter games trying to have 2 people walk down a hallway stupidly against someone camping a corner is paramount to death because of how high low the TTK is. In overwatch, its so long in comparison that 2 people rushing you down a hall way is pretty much death for the person in the 2v1. Its just harder to carry other players especially with how powerful various effects are in the game for stalling. Its great I out played McCree + Mercy as McCree, but now I have to reload and Mercy gets rez off. I now have to out play this duo again with like 1-2 abilities on cooldown on top of whatever damage I already took.

Carrying in OW requires a really high skill disparity. We are talking like 1000+ SR to really see the difference in players. People within 1000 SR can actually thwart another player depending upon how teams play with each other.

Care to share evidence for that claim? Surely, if it’s so obvious.

What you are doing is believing in something insane. The reason it is insane is that it is entirely pointless. What you believe, and lets not mince words about this, is that Blizzard is intentionally lengthening queue times by having some additional secret requirements that if it ever came out would kill the game overnight for the sole purpose of accomplishing something that is naturally accomplished by the system just trying to find you a balanced game.

That is the crux of why it is insane. All this “forced 50-50” “game is trying to make me lose” argument makes no sense because if the system is working as designed you will have a 50-50 win rate. Therefore its a whole lot of work to get exactly where you would be anyway. So there is ZERO motivation to do so. So basically there is no gain and everything to lose and you figure “ya that choice makes sense to make”.

If they don’t change the ranking rating system then I will not buy OW2. Lipstick on a pig, or maybe on Roadhog.

No, you are 100% wrong. This is a team game. You are 1/6 of the team. You can easily make the team weaker or stronger. But in the end you have a fraction of the outcome.

well tbh I told them they were grouped up with me and were better off with a friend who hasn’t played the game that much but IMO knows the basics very well

I used to think that despite only being a fraction of the team it was possible to still win more often than you lose because “the enemy team has just as much dead weight”.

The problem is that the enemy team doesn’t have just as much dead weight. In fact matches are very often ridiculously unbalanced in a way that shouldn’t be possible if the matchmaker really is just selecting random players within your SR.

I’ve come to believe that the matchmaker really is designed to give everybody a 50% winrate even if it must intentionally create one-sided rolls to do so.

I swear people who say that OW has “rigged matchmaking” need to play some games with some actual harsh SBMM, please play a bit of BOCW and come back to tell me that OW has a “rigged system”…

Would you even change your opinion if I upload collection of probably 50+ screenshots with 10+ win/loss streaks that I am collecting for a very long time? Would you find some another bizarre excuse to argue with significant amount of statistics or will just tell that I am just bad at the game? And I am not even one of those who insist that it is impossible to climb with this system. I do only state a fact that a matchmaker does absolutely enforce 50/50 whatever it takes and there’s nothing healthy in what forms it takes in a casual quick play matches. At this point it just destroys any form of competition, simply. Overwatch does already have a bunch of infinitely low effort heroes and it oftenly turns into basically a humiliation for a player that does actually try hard to only get stomped by some one brain cell animals only because the shape of hero balance is made so that you will never ever carry against a team of 6, unless you like, belong to 2 elos above of that. And even then, you likely will not pass through 2 supports and 2 tanks because they will just overcome your impact by stupid amount of health and sustain that these roles have. It’s just like if Blizzard intentionally were saying “You think you are good? Ha-ha, get f$#@ed filthy skill elitist moron, get a f#@$ing life you nerd” because they need to babysit their giant part of casual player base to ensure they get their guaranteed 50% wins no matter what.

The fact that there are people who still believe matchmaking isn’t like this to make u keep playing impresses me.

Yup by a handful of top 500 streamers that are far better than most people. I said “pretty much everyone” not “everyone”. Even owl pros recommend grouping up to climb ladder and say solo queue just makes things far more difficult.

People like you who defend the ranked system and act like it’s perfect are simply just inexperienced. I’ve been playing since season 3 I have 4 accounts, some accounts never drop below diamond, other accounts are hard stuck gold because the game has anchor stats and decides where you belong on ladder in your first 100ish ranked games. I play at a masters level and on some accounts I get called a smurf all the time but I’m not actually smurfing, I’m just on an account that’s decided I belong in gold because my first 100 games had too many throwers lol.

Ranked overwatch is a joke. If you play long enough you will see.

I have 15 Accounts and also boosted a lot. No Account is hardstuck (ofc some of them need longer, because of their MMR, but they are not hardstuck). Literally no one. Only the players who play these accounts and they cant climb cause of a reason and Im pretty sure you know that reason.
