"You will climb over time"

Biggest lie I’ve heard here.
Support is such an unfun role when you are expected to carry. When I play Ana I can anti nade the enemy Hog he will still gets away unless I kill him.
I sleep Genjis but it doesn’t matter my team wakes them up more consistently than I hit those sleeps and I’m already hitting them half the time. But I can’t even safe sleep for blade when there is a Hog flanking me. Good thing my Rein and Lucio shoot him for a second and then just ignore him as if they had amnesia. Only way for me to not get killed is to sleep him but then my team gets bladed 2 sec later lol.

I can’t man more than 50% of the time my team is dead weight and at every time I ask the enemy team they agree isn’t that weird?
Why do I have to give 100% just to have a chance of winning when my 80% is equal to the enemy and 50% to my teammates?

It’s not climbing over time, it’s more it takes a lot of time to climb. If you don’t play a a lot you won’t climb. And during this time you need to learn. And climbing on support is possible I’ve done it multiple time.

Its not a lie. Its a fact, but it has obviously some requirements. Playing better than players in your elo for example. Only time is not enough without playing better.

Your post is just full of excuses, if you want help from others, post a replay code and ask for review.

Well against a hog it’s best you are miles away from hog. You’re an easy target for him cause you have no escape unless you hit your sleeps everytime. But against a genji amd hog ana is probably not your best choice. Your a walking dead man. Gotta pick another support against them that can escape.

Not a lie, it’s true for me lol.

Yeah yeah it’s always the fault of the team yade yade just group up.

This is rediculous it never took me longer than a week and eveb if I didn’t play for a while.

Here have fun wasting your time then.

I’m sure you will come up with some bs mistakes a master and above wouldn’t have made but be honest who had more impact me or the guys on my side who play like me when I throw?

I believe someone touched on it but you will climb if you spend the time is kinda more the case. I forget which OW coach put this video out but it basically explained that in order to reach a certain rank you need to spend X amount of time a week. It looked at it from a Bronze-> climbing experience. Climbing is a full time job depending on where you’re trying to reach.

Your skill is a factor in climbing which will play the largest part in your rise/fall. Throws and disconnects are another factor in the time required to climb. the 40/40/20 rule essentially. The more time you play the more time you have to make up for the lost SR.

IMO OW’s comp is an antiquated approach that in the end leeches the actual enjoyment out of the time played.

I dont know your rank. I coach players only below plat. And you are probably not even interested in getting truly better based on your salty response.

I’ve been against Seraph in comp. He was a mid-Diamond DPS. I think a string of bad games, mixed with some tilt issues pushed him back to mid/high plat.

Honestly the state of Overwatch is kind of disgusting. I think you should consider taking a break.

Honestly, I’m considering stopping playing Overwatch. I love the game, I love the heroes and I love the competitive aspect. But it’s exhausting honestly trying to outsmart, outplay, our perform the enemy.

Last night I was matched against a widow who was absolutely killing everything. Open profile, normal stats. 3900 peak player (on that account anyways) since season 11 had never fallen out of masters.

This season (at the time of our game last night) he was sitting at 33xx SR. A valiant effort was made to stop him and his team (honestly “I” made the mistake of popping Blizzard too early). And my team lost.

I added him after the game, he said he deranked to help a couple of his friends climb some new accounts. The genji/Cree player on his team was “ok” but nothing spectacular.

Frustrating games… Too much effort and stress over someone who just didn’t belong in a 3k-31xx avg game…

I think we both need a break buddy…

The more time you put in game the higher you will go. I’ve climb with every role in different situation and it was just time consuming.

If they revert hog damage I’d be okay with these.

Yeah I think you’re right.
I am open for criticism but only at my actual rank. I don’t give a damn if someone thinks I made a mistake when the whole game feels like I am smurfing with Bots on my side who need me to counter the enemy carry smh…

Not really

climbing is like an equation

time + improvement = climbing

cant climb if you dont put the time to play, nor can you climb without improving.

So i’m not going to watch both but off the SB2K74 game a large thing for your Ana is sleep dart usage. Try saving it for important moments or when you know it will hit instead of just blasting off whenever an enemy is in LOS.

You sound like the kind of player who doesn’t really want to improve to climb. I’ll give a light analysis on this game.

  • You miss too many sleep darts, but you hit a some on the enemy Genji which is good, also one on that Roadhog who was flanking when you were on defense, as well as the Zarya on your next offense, but otherwise you should look for more impactful times to use the sleep dart.
  • You were hardly getting any pressure towards you (on defense) which you could have better taken advantage of and played a little closer to your team, you could have better kept them up that way, especially on first point defense.
  • Your grenades were minimal value at best, aside from throwing one into a Zarya Ultimate, you either missed completely or hit 1 target (yourself, 1 team mate, or 1 enemy) and usually threw them at your team when they didn’t really need it - working on hitting 2+ targets with the nades, with 3+ or better sometimes will get much more value out of your grenades
  • On defense on the second point, when they cap to make the game 2-2, you could have nano-boosted your Reinhardt when you saw your team go down, instead you held the nano, perhaps in hopes of having another nano blade, but there is a low chance of pulling if off effectively unless you really get out of there - you didn’t, died and then when you respawned you used it on the dying Zarya and completely wasted the nano, as it was used but never applied to your Zarya
  • Your mechanical skill is solid for shooting the enemies, but you are often holding onto your grenade while you take shots, if you can hit an enemy to purple them, you will have a much higher chance of killing them if you can take a shot or two at them
  • When it’s 4-4 and you’re on offense, the aggressive flank and nade you use while most of your team is injured might seem like a good play but it gets almost no value because they are behind a shield and not a single member of your team is close or healthy enough to capitalize on your play, you could have died in the process which would have killed that push, but you fortunately get out - plays like that are excellent if your team can make a play off of them.

The game ended 5-4, it was a close game and could have gone either way with a few extra good plays from anyone on your team, including you. To best climb, making big plays in these close games to help your team win is the best way to climb. Hope this helps, I’m a 3950 peak Zen main who can play all the Supports at a Master level.

Its definitely not a lie. I’m a plat player who hovers around 2300 to 2400. Why? Because I work 5 days a week and have split days off, a lot of which those days off I’m doing work on the house, laying tile, yard work etc. I dont play much anymore. However, when I self quarantined for two weeks, all I did was play overwatch. Guess what. Climbed back to plat…but then had to go back to work. The developers need to change how long it takes to grind to your max sr range. Most people cant make overwatch their life. The people who can literally do. I’d like to see ranks achieved more easily and taken easily. This way you have to prove consistency to stay in your rank and can still have a life outside of overwatch. The grind is ridiculous
