Blizzard, don’t make the same mistake, release OW Classic standalone before it’s too late. OW1 is superior to OW2.
The issue with that is it would split the player base in a game where Queues are already pretty bad.
that and…where does classic begin or end
is now classic? is ana release classic? is the beginning classic?
It is kinda weird that people even have to ask for such things.
Though it makes sense why they want to delete OW1. Because they need everyone to jump into OW2 to get some $$$. And you can’t do that if you leave a superior game running.
I don’t like the 5v5 in OW2 and everything that comes with
I can hear the “don’t play it then”, well the problem is i like OW1, why would you force someone to play something else when OW1 is perfect as it is. OW1 is not OW2 it’s completely different game style!
It’s almost impossible to do. They would require two separate servers, the player base would be divided and the queue times would increase drastically for both. OW1 would have no content and would die pretty quickly. It’s just stupid from a business standpoint to do
6v6 is terrible i don’t get how anyone could be upset with going 5v5
bruh
This playerbase sometimes… I can’t even.
It is not but I respect your opinion.
That said what would a 6v6 mode in Overwatch 2 look like?
Like all Tanks have 30% less health, and 30% slower cooldowns/regens?
They should just keep current OW1 as a stand alone game. Why just delete it? It will be abandoned and have no updates but the hardcore fans will stick around and can make their own custom games.

Chaos for the most part.
The only change that could carrier over from 5v5 to 6v6 would be the reduction in CC. But in combination with that the Tanks would need severe changes, either be like how they are in OW2 or go the opposite direction and make them more Tank-y and less Brawler. And that’s not even mentioning Tank synergy which is an entire separate “issue” in of itself.
Everything else would need looking at and possibly entire reverts.
Noone cares about implementing ow1 in ow2
All i want is giving the possibility to players if they want to play OW1 after OW2 releases
I hope we would have 6v6 as an arcade mode in OW2 if we can’t have OW1. Forcing players to play 5v5 without ANY way to play 6v6 (game mode which has been for so many years) is just bad.
I 100% agree that they should leave the original Game as its own separate game! This would allow people who enjoy the original and the sequel to go back and forth for a change of pace from time to time!

And with no Arcade (because not enough players) and it getting slowly stripped down (because not enough players) all you are left with is a game with a very small population allowed to exist for a couple years before the servers shut down aka the standard video game cycle.

it would split the player base
I think that, as is, the people who play sym, sombra, mei, or alikes, will just straight up leave when ow2 releases
So if they don’t split it they just lose half of it, and they need to step it up for the non pew pew dps
How can people be so sure that ow2 will get consistent number of players, people don’t even watch it atm!

A lot of posters refuse to acknowledge this is a massive risk for Blizzard. They’re completely aboard the hype train and blind to why so many will outright quit the game once OW2 launches.
The reality is that OW2 is Blizzard gambling that they’ll attract new players and manage to keep them in order to not only replace those who quit but also outnumber them.
Given the gameplay quality, imbalance, likelihood of predatory pricing, etc I just don’t see it working beyond the initial few months. Not without major improvements that is.

OW1 is perfect as it is
Lol
