You think the switch 2 would actually...work for ow2?

i’m genuinely curious, because i’ve tried playing it on switch. it’s pretty terrible.
i wrote about my “experience” many months ago.

if you genuinely don’t believe how garbage this port is, go ahead and find your switch and try to play the game.

now its 2025, and not 2017. we’re coming in on 8 years since the switch dropped.
new year, new console, new hardware.

nintendo is the only company that doesn’t really care for itself having the highest, end of the line specs. this is pretty obvious because nintendo has always been for the casual market in general.

that comment i made above is pretty self explanatory, obviously it can’t keep up playing overwatch.

about the hardware aspects of it, nobody really knows until the april 2nd informational video releases. sure theres speculation everywhere on youtube, tiktok, reddit, ect. but theres no official hardware announcements.

now for discussion, will the switch 2, actually work for ow2?
would it play at a solid 60fps? would graphics be improved upon? will the loading…actually load? is there a solid chance that overwatch will actually be playable?

i’ve played on switch for years isn’t that bad, it does a cool thing where the characters/effects are rendered in lower quality when they’re further away and the frames are a smooth 30, unless there is too many effects in your face or a mauga in your face…

something is probably wrong with your switch, especially if you’ve just “dug it up”, it has issues when not used for a while. at least 20fps isn’t common for a most of us

you mean 100 seconds? yeah, i dunno why it does that

it does? the only problem is if you haven’t cached anything, meaning you’re playing your first game of the day. most of us go into deathmatch while in queue and when going into a match, it’s fine

relaunching a game/being a backfill when nothing is cached and it’s the middle of a game, nothing will load

so

it already is … apart from the rare blank screen bug when respawning but it isn’t that bad, you can still move around and guess your way out of spawn until it goes away

100%, it’s not even a discussion and i hope blizzard have changed the frame limit… and kept gyro

leaks* a lot of them. if they are true, it’ll be pretty sick to have a portable ps4 that runs cool

actually the current switch could but blizzard refuses to give us a performance option and degrade the graphics… like, if someone doesn’t like it, they’d just turn it off… just give it to us

nothing wrong with my switch surprisingly, even after owning it since 2018. i got tears of the kingdom recently, (im late on that lol) and its been a great experience.

ur possibly correct on that but i do want to ask you if you play on handheld (i play handheld) or it being docked. also not even total first game on, i remember playing support and just playing mercy/lucio for a few games.

i hope so to. i asked this cus i know nintendo is known for being a generation late hardware wise.

really? if its potentially as powerful as a ps4, thats sick asf.

i thought it was pretty good.

i thought it was pretty horrendous tbh. but i am pretty optimistic about the switch 2 and if overwatch is gonna get some cool upgrades with it.

you never know, totk can be fine but ow can be not fine. totk has a ton of frame drops either way that don’t affect your gameplay

constant low fps in ow is not normal so i dunno, my switch is almost as old (it’s my 2nd one, maybe i’ve just taken better care of it?)

both is about the same but i main handheld so i can play in my room but yeah, handheld does load quicker

again but it also could’ve been your luck, laggy games do happen when there’s a lot happening in your face

i’m gold if it changes anything

okay well it’s not THAT bad, they made a console EIGHT years ago and it runs ow at 30fps at a decent resolution… yknow

truth! (hell, you’ve been in the underground? framedrop city.)

yeah most likely, already a chaotic game to begin with so…

nah im plat/lowest diamond, we’re basically the same & even if, the convo is about hardware performance issues (not the performance issues of us or our teammates)

I MEANNNNNNNNN…a little bit
but not in a snobby, “oh man, i just need 300fps and 4k!!!” way lmaoo

its genuinely cool that they even made it happen.

i know, it’s just chaotic plat fights/slow bronze fights have more things going on, i should’ve said that lol

i meant “it’s not bad” as in it’s silly to question if the switch 2 is going to be okay … the ps5 just released and i don’t see another nintendo console ontop of the switch 2 within 4 years so it’s gotta last as well

yeah and it was even bad for it’s time 8 years ago, nintendo cuts costs (the stand is terrible) where they can to make their console the cheapest out there

i don’t think nintendo is stupid enough to release another underpowered console, what would be the point of the switch 2 anyways? there’s literally no new gimmick apart from a possible mouse feature which looks useless… how would i play ow like that? i tried holding it like that with my current joycons and i couldn’t press anything

If it does 1080p 60 FPS that’s good enough for me I’m buying it day one!

Wait, what happened with Sony and Microsoft? :zipper_mouth_face:.

Knowing how ActiBlizz optimizes their games, probably no.

it will >:)

isn’t overwatch one of the most optimised games? and yes it would

Yes, but they also have games like the later CoDs that are 200GB+, this and OW2 has problems on the Switch, why would the Switch 2 change it?

i think you can answer this
