You think Echo was a former lover of McCree?

Maybe Echo was a real person at one point and asked McCree to put her consciousness into an omnic so she could be with him forever. Until we get her origin story, this is my best explanation for it.

Really? That is your best explanation?

Yes

Huh?

So. Echo was a person who became an immortal robot so she can be with McCree, who is also a person and not an immortal robot, forever? If she wanted to be with him forever, why not staying a person and growing old together?

What if she was dying from a fatal disease? And Mercy was able to save her from a research project wherein she could store consciousness into an omnic. It could explain McCree’s response to her: “Well, I have faith you can get me patched up again doc.”

I don’t think it is likely. They were probably old friends from Overwatch.

Mccree’s more of a flatterer. Echo was just being flirty right back.

She did seem to have a more human personality in all of 10seconds we saw her so yer i could buy it that she was once a human that transfered her consciousness to a Omnic body her having a human face with eyes (key point of displaying emotion) would support that aswell as all omnics we have seen so far have a faux human face plate not actual detail to look like an actual human.

Seems somewhat possible. He calls her “partner” and I can’t imagine a guy like McCree hanging out with a fancy-pants looking robot like her. She’s clearly not a typical run of the mill omnic. Her design is very new in the Overwatch universe.

I don’t know about ‘lover’ but I like the idea that she is an uploaded human consciousness. I could even see her having something in common with Genji if that’s the case. They’re both caught between being human and being omnic in a world that has a lot of conflict between the two.

… Wow a cowboy character calling someone partner never heard of that before >.>

I don’t think they are a couple. Because McCree rode off into the sunset alone whereas the stereotypical ending is riding off in the sunset together. And call me old school but as a gentleman, I would have thought he would drop her off home or somewhere instead of leaving her in the middle of nowhere since she had traveled via train a fair distance.

Ashe seemed more into McCree than McCree seemed into Echo, tbh.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she was once human though, it could be why her name is Echo.

This can destroy a lot things in the universe. If this is possible. All the people who die could easily be moved to an artificial body. Most friends of Reinhardt would be alive. Unless the brain was destroyed. Or they where cut off from medical teams. If the brain is converted to data. Than we have to also consider duplication and or humanized hacking.

Have you SEEN McCree?

With a face like that I doubt anyone ISN’T an ex lover of his.
