You should ONLY be able to get Play of the Game if you're on the winning team!

It’s crazy to me that just because a Junkrat has a lucky rip tire but he played like crap the rest of the game and even possibly lost the game for his team, somehow he gets play of the game.

You should only be able to get POTG if you’re on the winning team. It shouldn’t just be about kills either, I think the healers should be able to get POTG for their keeping the team alive. Tanks should be able to get POTG for keeping the dps off their healers during crucial parts of the game. What do you guys think?

I think whoever has the most impactful play should get play of the game.

I think that anyone who (genuinely) complains about not getting potg should be muted.

what a stupid thread… If someone had a better play than the winning team that play should be showcased. It can help you observe and learn how it’s done.

Clearly you’ve never watched sports or see how they award the stars of the match after. Many times the losing team has people awarded stars. It’s about plays, not wins.

how about we just remove potg

Wow, the first 4 posts said all the things I was going to say before I could.

…Guess I’ll just settle for saying you should probably edit that title because calling out Devs by name will get your thread locked or worse.

I just want to see an Ana get one

I’ve seen one this weekend!
It was in Mystery Heroes, but damn it felt weird to watch it.

Potg should go to anyone, winning or losing shouldn’t Matter. However i really wish it was slightly easier for Ana to get potg. Like one time i thought i had it. I nano boosted a rein that got a double kill, then out sniped the widowmaker, and slept the genji that just ulted. Potg goes to the genji that had a triple kill. It’s just so frustrating that Ana struggles so hard to get it.

Well I am surprise about how people forget how easily the newer supports gets their potg by acutally not ‘healing’ making them dps more and acting all smug at the end of game after loosing.

It’s PLAY of the game, not WIN of the game or PLAYER of the game.

It’s looking for the most impactful moment in the game, where a person got lots of kills. I’ll bet Junkrat’s team stabilized after that lucky Tire and got 10-30 seconds of pushing/holding that they wouldn’t have otherwise.
