His shotgun was more of a compliment to his abilities.
Slam, shoot, uppercut, shoot, then RP away, or depending on the mode, the shotgun was clean up if they survived a fully charged punch. I was fine with having to lead shots because I had control over how they moved. Now? Unless it’s an explosive or has a large hit box, I shouldn’t have to lead the target with a shotgun at 3 meters. He was so much better as damage, now he can barely hold his own in a 1v1 in HIS comfort zone. If you’re going to nerf his damage and CC as much as you have, at least make his weapon hitscan.
At this point, he’s only good in a 1v1, and his best means of fighting back is RP, shoot, block, RP again, then leap to safety.

His going to need a lot more buffs than just to his shotgun. His whole kit needs a buff and a major one too

He was definitely a lot better as damage. His shotgun is practically useless beyond melee distance, RP doesn’t even do half the damage, the slam is easy to over aim with, and block is only good for charging the RP, which is now an opener.
His only saving grace is that he can face-tank ults like Deadeye. He needs to be able to shoot while blocking, he needs more shields or overhealth from his passive, and if his shotgun doesn’t get a projectile speed buff, he needs a melee buff. No reason why the guy who’s whole schtick is punching people does the same damage as anyone else.

Maybe im in the minority here, but doom fist is a great hero. His kit is different from when he first came out, but i really dont think it made him any worse. Hes still a god in the right hands. Just hate that you can only have 1 tank.

most doom mains dont like how much he is dependent on the shotgun now.
Its in the damn name. DoomFIST not shotgunhands. I want them to buff him to make him threatening again, but the shotgun is not the way

For me nothing remained of the old Doomfist beside the shield passive. Feels like everything i have learned on dps doom was wasted.

he needs to have meaningful damage in form of abilities. both forms of RP should do 50% more damage than now and slam should have the slow back and 1 or 2 seconds less of cooldown.
Block needs to be changed entirely, its pretty much useless if not outright negative

Man I laughed so hard at this 
The most reliable way to get kills I’ve found is engage with punch, use block to get charged punch, use slam to escape then wait ENTIRE SLAM COOLDOWN so you can re-engage with slam on top of enemy close to a wall, use charged punch to actually stun them and then there’s enough time to walk on top of them and do 2 hand cannons to secure a kill.
Also guard mechanic is a weak design that scales inversely with enemy skill, he’s gonna get even worse when people learn to stop shooting him during block.
I initially thought this, but I’m getting the hang of Doomfist. You have to truly think of him as a tank in order to play him. You can’t go in thinking you’re going to get kills. You’re going in to cause a disruption, open up space for your team, and get kills together with your team. And you can still get solo kills with him, but that’s not your primary goal anymore.
That said, if I were to give him 1 buff, it might be to make Power Block more rewording. People should be more afraid to shoot at him when he does it (comparable to Zarya bubble).
Other than that, I think he’s solid.

you can get kills with any other tank, why not him?
I really don’/t get what they were doing with him. JQ doesn’t have a block, why does he need one? Just give him his ability to fly around the map back.
I don’t find it harder to get kills with Doom than with any other tank. Well except for Hog, but Hog is stupid.
Just up some damage numbers, get him exactly 50 armor and switch block to uppercut and we’re gucci
you know uncharged punch is still a mini-stun right? thats aoe on a 3 second cooldown. its literally a better lucio boop in almost every way and that skill is cracked
not as good because the hitbox is smaller than boop and it only works on horizontal, on top of that the punch only stuns if it hits a wall
the mini-stun is on the punches aoe hitbox not the wall impact, it is one of the best tools for cancelling ults and CDs alike
I couldn’t fit “if you’re going to” into the beginning of the title with everything else. Probably should’ve put that in the topic body. The only CC he has now comes with RP. If they’re going to keep him as a tank, here’s what I’d do:
- Increase shotgun projectile speed. Again, no reason a “in your face” tank with such a weak weapon should have to lead his shots as close as 5 meters when most, if not every other projectile is hitscan at that range, explosive, has a larger hit box, or has a much wider spread.
- Have Block increase charge speed of RP.
- Increase regular melee damage and/ or speed.
- Increase damage of fully charged RP + wall impact to 100-120.
- Have block increase damage and radius of his slam and his ult.
- Give back the CC on his slam. Effect increases with charge.
- Kills with a fully charged ability refund Block.
That’s all probably too much and would probably put him back in the damage role, but if it breaks him, they can reel him back as much as they need to.
