The sassiness in her voice lines is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of sassiness most of the voice lines and hero interactions will go over a typical player’s head. There’s also Symmetra’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into her characterization - her personal sassiness in her voice lines draws heavily from Moira’s own sassiness back in her glory days as a Blackwatch agent, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these voice lines and hero interactions, to realize that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Symmetra truly ARE idiots (which is why no one in the OWL plays her) - of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the deep meaning in Symmetra’s existential catchphrase “Why do you struggle?” which itself is a cryptic reference to the painful reality we know as “Life.” I’m smirking right now, just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Michael Chu’s genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools… how I pity them.
And yes by the way, I DO have a Symmetra tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

To be fair you have to have a high IQ to understand Hanzo
The condescending tone in his voice lines is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of honor most of the voice lines and hero interactions will go over a typical player’s head. There’s also Hanzo’s honorable outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterization - his personal arrogance in his voice lines draws heavily from his own father back in Shimada Clan, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these voice lines and hero interactions, to realize that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about HONOR. As a consequence people who dislike Hanzo truly ARE insolent cur; (which is why no one in the OWL plays him) - of course, they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the deep meaning in Hanzo’s existential catchphrase “SAKE!” which itself is a cryptic reference to the painful reality we know as “Competitive play”. I’m smirking right now, just imagining one of those unworthy simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Michael Chu’s genius unfolds itself on their computer screens. What fools… how I pity them.
