There used to be a one button mute all before the patch that nerfed tanky D.va (around season 2) i even wrote into support, where they confirmed the option was removed but they forwarded the info to the appropriate party. Where it was promptly ignored.
close the computer lol

The fact that so many ow players have a mental illness makes sense on why the game is as toxic as it is.
I’ve always felt that, those who suffer from mental illness, shouldn’t be in the multiplayer gaming environment. I just think it’s not a healthy place for such obvious reasons. Even if you don’t suffer from mental illness, you can still become frustrated with multiplayer games like Overwatch. So much so they can effect your mood even after you’re done gaming.
As for combating mental illness, I know there is a large range, but I’ve always felt that exercise is a great solution, simply because your brain releases endorphins from exercising, and the good health and body builds confidence and reassurance.
I personally spin class during the week, and hike on the weekends. The hiking on the weekends is like a reset button for me. I have no electronics, other than my garmin watch for GPS, and an mp3 player to listen to music or a podcast at night to help me fall asleep. I always recommend hiking.

korn are awesome, so are slipknot and linkin park, huge fan of extreme metal now but this is what i grew up with and i still love it
Well I feel bad for u tbh but the forums never seem to care about males
I guess u can go on a trip or something it can rly help u
Ok I don’t wanna sound like an edge lord or anything, but if you have mental illness then internet is a bad place for you, I was in depression for 2 years and internet community made it worse, if you wanna still enjoy playing games then play single player games or read books which is pretty relaxing.
You use internet with your own responsibility and any person won’t know who you are or what are you suffering from. They will ramble against you if they get mad (not like I promote it) so you gotta adapt the world, the world can’t adapt you.
Still sorry to hear that you had to go through it, take a break and go out for a walk or something while listening to music and you’ll feel better.
I know this isn’t what you want to hear, but from one adult male to another, you’re going to have to be the bigger person. Most of the people who play this game are at that age where they haven’t quite developed empathy, or an understanding that being a jerk isn’t nearly as funny as they think it is.
And no, this isn’t some widespread bash on OW players. But teenagers and young adults tend to be much more self focused (which is part of growing up). So unfortunately, it’s something we just have to work at getting people to understand. I’m a teacher, I see it in school all the time, and it isn’t pretty there either. I’ve had colleagues break down over their students before.
mute…the…chat…
Thanks I’ve been talking to someone for two years, and that’s sound advice. I don’t know where I’d be right now if it weren’t for my counselor. But maybe it’s just phases, I get huge waves of bad emotions, and have no idea when it will be set off. Kind of a bad concoction.
Yeah I’ve advanced to melodic death metal, technical death metal, prog death, so on and so forth.
Some of my favorites nowadays:
(My M+ guild in WoW is called Ashes of the Wake lol)
I could keep going but yeah
Honestly music has saved my life. I’ve seen so many bands live now, gone to so many metal shows. So many. I used to think they’d make me super anxious but the truth is that I feel so at ease. We’re all there for the same thing. I’m not a fat 40 year old girl gamer at a metal show. I’m the same as everyone else, and we all wear the same uniform - jeans and a band shirt.
for me this is the kind of stuff i am into from heaviest to lighter stuff
to more tech deathcore
to hardcore
to soft rock
honestly i still dont feel at ease at a lot of metal shows but i have in the past it depends on the vibe tbh
Dude, you can’t even go into a freaking AI match as a brand new player on LoL without getting screamed at the entire match. OW looks like My Little Pony Online compared to LoL.
Most people don’t have empathy anymore.
Empathy doesn’t get us anywhere these days. We had to abandon it. It’s not an age thing, it’s a generational thing.
Just as some examples, I’ve seen:
KoRn (4x), Godsmack (6x), Disturbed (9x), Rob Zombie (11x), Alice Cooper (7x) Not “metal” but a legend, Slayer (3x), Anthrax, Trivium (3x), Pantera, Mudvayne, HELLYEAH, Megadeth (3x), Amon Amarth (2x), Arch Enemy, In Flames, Mushroomhead, Cannibal Corpse (4x), Dethklok (so much fun), Mastodon, King Diamond, Machinehead, Black Label Society, Motorhead… I know I’m forgetting a bunch. My sister and I make it a point to go to every show we possibly can for as long as we can. I have a dream that one day I’ll have the guts to actually crowdsurf.
I’ve never felt out of place at any of these shows once the music started. I also have quite the collection of T-shirts now
Also, oddly, I’ve never seen Metallica live. Next on my bucket list is Rammstein, and since they’re putting out a new album I should get to see them very soon
I’m always hesitant to blame generations, though I suppose certain values do shift a bit with each one. I do believe the kids I teach will make fine adults, or l hope for most of them anyway.
I really do believe age has a lot to do with it. Most teenagers don’t have responsibility to anyone but themselves or a small community yet. As we get older, we take on more, and it makes us understand more. I’ll be the first to admit I was an awful teenager, but I’ve learned a lot as I’ve had more experience. A lot of people haven’t had that experience yet.
I llove that there’s metal happening, it good to see.
These days favs.
Love Blake Richardson’s drumming.
Nevermore is more melodic.
And always loves guitars gods like Malmsteen, Steve Vai. And of course
Jason Becker and Marty Friedman. Love metal
