You eliminated a hero (Mercy topic)

Now you must follow this flowchart, does enemy have a mercy on the team? (Using the scoreboard) No? Carry on. Does Enemy HAVE a mercy? (Again, by resorting to scoreboard information). X player you just eliminated now has to be camped in fear that a mercy would just come out of nowhere and ninja resurrect said player that was eliminated, it is specially important when you are also stuck with teammates with a dire tunnel vision syndrome, I don’t have a problem with this for the most part, It’s just the heavy reliance on the scoreboard feature and it’s constant use of it to identify whether you should camp a corpse or not. I want to ask Blizzard if they could add a clear indicator not just for me but for those less attentive players, more specifically the same indicator mercy has of the resurrect node. It puzzles me why would you program such a vital mechanic as resurrect to be concealed from the rest of the players involved from the UI. I don’t want to constantly be holding Tab just to check if they have a mercy on their team, that they have to CAMP players corpse to prevent a resurrect is an already annoying and frustrating enough endeavor. Some reasonable adjustments to UI information are necessary.

Diminish this severe reliance on the scoreboard for this information.

You should know what all the characters are on the enemy team always.

It’s a 30s powerful cooldown. IF it’s on cooldown play normally. IF it’s up, yes, you need to adjust your team strategy to take that into account. Same as you do with other important cooldowns like deflect, biotic grenade, immortality field, defense matrix, powerblock, javelin spin, kinetic grasp, cassidy nade, etc, etc, etc, etc.

It is annoying because at the beginning if you go for a early pick and get it and don’t see that the enemy team has a mercy it just straight up negates the advantage.

Which yeah it’s a niche situation and only happens like ones in a few games but man is it annoying when it does happen.

Cause I guarentee had I knew they had a mercy when I spawn camped your cassidy I would of camped that body like I’m camping in cod multiplayer.

Mercy is overtuned. Half the top 500 players are mercy main.

Imagine how much better you have to play than a mercy at lower ranks to beat her….

It’s crazy. Not to mention. Most women that play overwatch are Ana mains. Sad to see women being oppressed by mercy. Then being yelled at to play mercy when they dare to speak.

How do you not know who their supports are. Even in Bronze you’re aware of that.

You hate having to adjust for Mercy’s rez?
I hate having to completely swap when I see a Pharah or Echo.

Luckily, we both have options, instead of just sitting there and letting it happen. Like, we have room to play the game. Crazy, I know.

I wish they would eliminate Mercy from the game. Matches are always so much more enjoyable without her. When a team has a Mercy you have to kill her first or nothing dies. No other support demands that much focus.

It is unfortunate to be stuck with teammates who are so incompetent that they are unable to track even the slowest and most critical of enemy cooldowns. The solution is that you keep playing better than them and rank up while your dumb teammates continue to derank because of how dumb they are.
If you keep improving you will eventually enter a rank where most people are good enough at the game to know when a kill is rezzable.

TL;DR: The game does not need to be dumbed down.

i mean thats straight up her strenght, she is most valuable in poke/neutral game situations

thats straight up not true. most supports have way more sustain for the team. mercys only kind suvivability burst is her rez… the longest cd in the game

That’s on your team for not noticing the mercy and reacting accordingly you kill an enemy and the mercy has to cc herself for nearly 2 seconds to get that Rez off, that’s an eternity In overwatch, kill her or interrupt her during the Rez animation and boom they are down a powerful ability for 30+ seconds.

I swear the need Mercy to spawn a literal giant neon sign with flashing lights, have Athena scream “MERCY IS USING RESURRECT” on megaphones around every map, and nail both of Mercy’s feet to the ground every time she uses res. It’s just the only way that people will stop complaining about ‘undoing a pick’, except deep down I know even that won’t be enough.

You complain about Mercy? At least she cant do anything offensively. I have much more problems with heroes like Ana, that have abilities that have an offensive capability and will just kill or hinder you (lol) in what you are doing. In that way there exist a flowchart of every hero in the game. You just need to know what you are up against. Pressing tab a few times a round is not hard.

I’ve seen people try a lot of wild angles when requesting nerfs, but I think this one is a first.

The scoreboard takes too long to initialize. Many times your first indication that there’s a Widow is taking a bullet to the head.

No other hero has you constantly pressing tab to check if they have a mercy on their team, if they do, you have to change entirely how you have to play, eliminate somebody other than mercy, you have to camp that eliminated player, much more important if the player is the TANK. Like I mentioned earlier, do this for players who can’t pay attention worth squat, make the death nodes be also pingable.

If the enemy team has a Widowmaker or a Hanzo I have to constantly change how I play to avoid being one-shot, in comparison to Mercy where I only need to pay attention for a couple of seconds after a kill. If I’m playing Symmetra I might as well immediately switch if the enemy team has a Pharah. If I’m Tracer and the enemy team has a Torbjörn it can completely change how I initiate an encounter.

So yeah, pretending Mercy is unique in this way is kinda funny to me.

you gotta be bronze :skull: looks like you’re a salty dps main who can’t get more than 1 kill every 30 seconds and has the attention span of a cocomelon baby to not be able to keep track of what heroes the enemy team is playing :joy:

Oh if OP was around during mass Rez era….

or you could- like look at the mercy. And your eyes most likely provide necessary information about whether you need to camp the corpse or if you are just wasting time because you were traumatized by that big rezz that ruined your game that one night.
