And that would also not change the element of her still being tilting to play against other than the fact we simply just won’t be seeing the hero ever again, which is unhappy for the people who DO like to play brigitte, and would like to see more of her in the long run. And here’s why.

As a tank main, here is how WE feel. There is now HARD cc in every role. And the cc that came before ALWAYS had an element of being counter played. Brigitte has a stun on a 5 second cooldown, and is the EASIEST by FAR to land. The only thing in the game that actually blocks it is a Projected barrier which is on an 8 second cooldown. The counterplay simply isn’t there, and the heroes you are able to play without putting yourself at a massive disadvantage are not viable so she can just walk up and bash straight through your shield, and it feels like a cheese element, while it isn’t exactly HARD to overcome. It is simply NOT FUN TO DO THAT.
Because of her armor stacking ult, the meta is revolving around the gravonstrike combo.
All we are seeing is gravonstrike game after game after game. And its simply because the only other ults in game that could achieve the same effect as the damage coming out of gravonstrike, put the user at total risk of being INSTANTLY shut down.
That AND the fact that the dragonstrike can be damage boosted rendering a trance completely useless unless your reinhardt lands a GREAT shatter disabling the would be damage booster, and only then can your zen safely trance without wasting an ultimate. That all comes back to brigitte, snuffing out other heroes being viable against her because of a non telegraphed stun and the fact you can’t engage her because even if you did, unless you are able to swing through her barrier, you can’t focus her down. (and in genjis case who CAN swing through it, remember you are in constant danger of being instantly shut down by her stun.)
The restricting nature of brigitte while NOT OP, Is incredibly un fun and devoid of the ability to choose anything else.
It was released as a META CHANGING HERO. All the while, Dive is by no means dead, so it failed that, and at the same time, managed to piss off ALL of the community, and managed to push 18 out of 28 heroes on the roster into the below 2% pickrate bracket. It was NOT a good addition to overwatch. We got just one more hero, and kicked most of the other heroes into the realm of if you pick them your team will hate you for it.
I personally am hoping they not only change the cooldown for shield bash, but rather change the elements of its use, have her shield match the time it takes for all other shields to be used in game, as the shield bash is much more cheese if she can flick barrier and instantly bash you, Reinhardt barrier takes close to a second to pull it up for it to be at all effective, while brigittes is near enough instant. I would also change the element of brigittes shield being up for the full time of shield bash, and even after can still be held up with no gaps (which shuts down the rest of the hero pool, not talking about tracer or genji, im talking about being able to use hitscans to get damage in and such, instead of NEEDING a hero with mobility or extreme damage or the ability to ignore a shield completely.) I would rather the shield bash animation be NOT a dash, rather than a run up and the shield is swiped from the center up to the side to bash with a small knockback, and followed up by a flail slam (this would look awesome and make shield bash a 2 part damage hit) in which the slam portion would deliver the stun and would NOT go through shields, this works against dive tanks, as the run up makes her step through a barrier, but the knockback would send reinhardt steps back, and the flail would not land the stun, but against dive, who have static barriers, the brigitte would already have crossed the barrier threshold and knocked a dive tank back into the bubble and slamming that stun in there.
That idea is overall MORE CC but removes the element of CHEESE on said stun, the massive reason people are unhappy with the ability, is there is actually no counter to it (the stun from brigitte is currently 6 seconds vs the only ability that can block it being an 8 second ability cooldown, with the uptime of the ability being counted its closer to 10 seconds, as the cooldown doesnt start till after the bubble ends). Its just take the stun like a man and move on. You can’t just “outplay it”. Having it the way it is now restricts players to the LEAST diverse meta we have ever seen, regardless of the OWL having its “most diverse meta” simply because their portion of the game functions differently to the one we play, because of their HEAVY element of teamplay, but even if the ladder did function that way, it would still be an anti fun mechanic to keep her how she is now, and because the hero is inherently broken by bad design, you can’t just numbers fix her to stop being OP as she would go from viable to UNPLAYABLE. They need to change the core aspects of how her kit works to achieve any result that will be happy for both sides.
