You can tell how much Blizad wants to forget SG2018

So I think we can all agree that the Summer Games 2018 event was a bit lackluster in content this time around. And it shows.

We barely get any cosmetics and nothing new added.

It’s possible Blizad realized their mistake and are trying their hardest to mask it. I mean look at the title screen for example. The SG screen was taken out in favor for the All Stars screen which really should’ve been set back until after the event, or at the very least not overshadowing the event as a whole.

As if that’s not enough, D.va’s Nano Cola challenge only ensures that people won’t take part in the event. Why? Because it’s running in the event itself and giving players incentive to not play only arcade for rewards.

To me at least, it seems like Blizad wants to forget this whole event ever happened, which is fine by me.

It’s what I call Blizzard.

Why tho? Is it a reference?

No it’s just the way I pronounce it.

Maybe the summer event date was planned before the start up for the all star league?

Maybe summer games screen was removed to try to lure players nto spending real money on All star skins?

Maybe D’va, Nuka challenge was set up for Gamesconand it happened to fall in line with summer games event?

maybe unicorns and big foot exist and the government is lying to us?

Maybe this is all a dream?

Speculating based off of nothing factual is fun

People complain Summer Games lacks content. They add more content with OWL skins and now the DVa event and folks are complaining Summer Games are gone? The devs just can’t win!

Have any considered these two mini events add onto the Summer Games to finish it up?

More content and OWL shouldn’t even be in the same sentence.

Also what everyone wanted was a new game mode, it’s called the summer games and not summer game for a reason.

And 8 legendary’s should be the average, i wonder where those other 2 went🙄

Why?

I am sick of the limited time events period.

All they are is a short term money grab from the devs trying to get people to spend more on limited loot boxes.

because it was first done for the Olympics. technically there should of been a summer games this year but the players base would flip

Because you have to make micro transactions for the OWL ones and there’s many people who hate overwatch league in general.

It’s like saying here’s the next event but it’s tied to the purchase of a genji figurine.

there are many people who like OWL though, so opinions

Yes but OWL content isn’t overwatch content.

It doesn’t change the fact that the event was completely underwhelming in content or the fact that the skins are 10 dollars.

It’s not content, it’s simply a cash grab on their part.

I mean, idk I like the dva mini event.

the summer games feels stale and it’s nice to have something else :frowning:

I forgot it happened until this Nano challenge. First event I haven’t bought Loot boxes for

How is that different from regular lootboxes though? You can grind tokens for free in a very similar way to how you can grind lootboxes and gold and you can also circumvent said grinding with microtransactions the same way you do with lootboxes and gold.
I can understand for the all-access pass skins, but for team (and all-star) skins, it’s just like we’ve always had it.
The Lucio emote will eventually move to the OWL skin model according to the devs, and we’ve seen the timed exclusives before with the Heroes of the Storm event.
