It’s actually harder to get off now that it’s ever been. Sombra doesn’t charge from healthpacks anymore, and she’s not good in a teamfight. On top of that, translocator isn’t invincible so you can’t toss one into the middle of the enemy team and wait for your team to get set up. You can’t play the mind games with your enemy.
Switch to what? Every ability based hero is trash vs her
and every hero in the game is ability based
Sure you can react to it. You react to it by running for cover and praying the enemy’s aim is worse than yours.

Is not Overwatch, Competitive, Heroes or Metas who needs a rework/nerf/buff it’s the same Overwatch heroes design team. They proved us they don’t know how to balance a game.
Not all heroes need their abilities to be reliable. In the past, even more so, but everyone kept asking for nerfs.
If anything, this is the peoples fault asking for nerfs to heroes that didn’t need them.
But anyways, heroes like Genji/Doom/Zen are unfavorable match ups. At least heroes like McCree can still fight, even for 6 seconds.
And it was a dumb nerf, only getting nerfed due to Hanzos MASSIVE rework that made him better than nearly all DPS, making dragonstrike combo appear more in games which wasn’t even Zaryas fault
Its bad balance, simply put
You’re misguided, here. Yes, you can subtract 170 from 200, and it is greater than 0. But, that doesn’t mean that you can react to EMP in 0.2 seconds, even if your reaction speed is faster than 0.2s.
These tests don’t require the person to identify which sound they are hearing. You don’t have 60ms to react, you have 60ms to identify that Sombra is casting EMP, before it is impossible to react. And that is for people with freak reaction speeds.
That is 0.06 seconds. Assuming 20ms, and 120ms reaction speed (outrageous), you would need to be able to visually distinguish the EMP animation in the first 0.06 seconds of its performance. Same goes for the voice-line.
0.06 seconds. 3.6 frames in a fighting game. Absolutely zero chance. She wouldn’t even get passed the “ah” sound in 0.06 seconds.

Valk is a pretty good counter to emp, just back up you can use mercys range to keep distance without having to hide like zen

Agree with the OP. EMP is too strong.
Sombra suffers from it also. She pays the price of having weak main kit and her playstyle is basically farm ult.
EMP should be nerfed by incresing this time to react and her other kit might.be buffed then.
It’s called a mind-game and very much related to the zen player’s gamesense/awareness.
True. Her below average win rate is an issue, but we all know if she hit 50% WR at all ranks then people would use that to help claim she’s OP…somehow.
They already grasp at anything.
Remember most stuns have much much smaller areas of effect, and also last for a fraction of a second. Not to mention I think RP is the only one that isn’t directly blockable.
Of course on the flip side, stuns actually stun you and don’t just silence.
What i’m trying to say is you can’t just pick and choose how to compare EMP to other abilities and say “SEE ITS NOT THAT BAD”. EMP functions completely differently than “other stuns” and you can’t just put them on the same table like that.
(I do agree 3 seconds is a stupidly long cast for a burst-style ult though. In my games even Reins 0.5 for Shatter is manageable, just, ya know, keep in mind that’s still over twice the amount of time EMP offers)

My point wasn’t to compair emp to stuns my point is to show that we can’t increase emp’s casttime by much atleast because it would be to easy to block with the stuns in the game especially hook.
I think the difference between Sombra and reins casttime come from the fact that Sombra mostly needs to chain ot with abilities but I we wouldn’t know.
It’s almost like the game was supposed to be built around counter picking and should continue to be balanced as such.
Lets not beat around the bush. Sombra farms Zen even without EMP, his hitbox is too juicy to pass up.
It’s honestly how the game was designed. With counter picks. Most people just are too stubborn to switch off their fav hero. Which is where all the forum hate comes from no matter which hero is in the crossfire.
It boils down to. “I don’t want to switch off my main, why should I? They should just nerf my counter”.
