I don’t care what Awkward or any other 1% GM player says. Realistically, you have to be 3 ranks above the lobby to carry 4 people who can’t even hold a mouse. There’s no occasion where this is an acceptable ranking system where there’s this much skill gap between players in a match.
“TheN YOu Don’T BeLoNG iN a HiGhEr RaNk”
That statement should be “you don’t belong in master” when you’re gold
“you don’t belong in GM” when you’re plat
etc.
There’s absolutely no friggin way a true plat player is carrying 4 horrible gold players vs 5 mid gold players. It’s simple as that. OW2 is truly worse in every sense including how they assign ranks on players. I suspect solely because they are afraid of long queue times. Quality of games are dumpstered right now at every rank. More so than OW 1
i agree , except actually nobody can carry , that’s just some frail ego rhetoric , you always have help . i haven’t seen anyone 1v5 a team yet , because according to this games very very low iq logic people actually believe (like you said) one person can win a match while their other 4 teammates sleep in the spawn room. You can be a MVP player but MVPs still lose , ask allen iverson , dude carried the 76ers and never won a championship
Not sure. Because these bad players need to be carried to be in my/your rank. They had to be carried here. There is no other option. Otherwise they would be bronze.
7….7 stomps in a row of teams that have no idea what they’re doing against team that know how to play. I have officially hit silver, never thought I’d get here but here I am, I haven’t been silver since early OW1 and here I am
Agreed, Veteran players can spot a forced loss within first 2 min or so.
Though, other day, I had a horrible team that I carried to a rare win. It was tuff.
You’d rather spend ONE FOURTH of a whole day, in a queue, waiting for a game that would have a negligible difference on match quality than what we have now…?
Press F to doubt.
You’ll still lose games.
There will still be people that play like idiots.
There will still be people that blame everyone but themselves when the match goes sideways.
There will still be rolls and stomps.
There will still be leavers. Imagine waiting six hours in a queue only to have the match cancel, or a leaver just late enough so it doesn’t cancel the match.
Some games aren’t possible to carry, but if you’re truly better than your rank, you’ll climb. You have 4 variables on your team and the enemy team has 5. Statistically you’re likely to win more than you lose if you’re better.
No one said you had to carry all of your games. Climbing is done by winning all of your winnable games.
DPS can absolutely carry bad players. If you are a god tier Ashe, Widow, Tracer, Sombra, Cassidy, Echo or Genji player than you have the most carry potential out of anyone in your team.
Supports cant do jack**** if their dps and tank is bad.
Tanks cant do a whole lot if their supports are bad.
DPS can very easily not rely on a tank or support in order to get kills.
Any god tier player on any role should be able to carry. This is not exclusive to dps.
And if you playing as a plat player in a plat lobby you should be roughly close to your piers and not be able to perform levels above everyone else i the lobby.
What you are describing is a smurf in a mediocre lobby.
Unfortunately, OW is more about grinding, luck and patience rather than pure and immediate skill bursting.
But they are cooperative mates even if they are not in vocal. You need to play a lot or to get lucky to meet them.
And you have to be patient to behave and think about how you communicate with others. Giving orders or keep blaming others usually don’t work.
Instead,
try to ask them what they need if they’re struggling. Sometimes you see someone looking like they’re diving too much but they could do wonders if they get some support (usually they have high damage, lot of deaths).
try to tell which opponent prevents you from performing, if you’ve got cooperative mates, they’ll switch or group with you, even without answering in the chat.
let your mates a chance : if they feel confident with their heroes (probably because its their main), you won’t have anything better from them (if they’re OTP, it usually means they can’t do anything even if they counterpick),
be kind with people who are obviously struggling or trying (like if they change their pick and it still doesn’t work, at least they’re trying, $#!t happens sometimes)
don’t answer people flaming you. When you get flamed, either change your strat (especially if you feel like struggling already), or keep focusing your gameplay. Most of the time, people flaming are just expressing their frustration and they’re too outraged to be cooperative whatever you could answer. Also, answering them can lead them to type even more and therefore play even less.
You will still have stubborn bad players but with a patient behaviour, you’ll spot cooperative decent mates.
If you think you can’t solo carry (and sometimes, you just can’t), you have to rely on your mates so I’d say real MVP in OW are patient cooperative people. With good teamwork, you can sometimes own a team with higher individual skills.
God tier supports cannot fully replace the impact a good DPS has on a match outcome. Sorry but that is an objective fact no matter how much people cry about support damage.
I’d take good DPS who carry a game over good supports anyday. You cannot win a game purely by having good supports. There is no point in them healing since dps/tank is useless, and they do not have the same survivability, tankiness or damage as tanks and dps.
So no, a god tier support is nowhere near the same as a god tier dps.
I’m afraid you haven’t played with any good supports if this is your experience…
So basically you are saying that if you put ML7 on one team and Jay3 on the enemy team with everything else being equal, jay3 would steamroll ML7?
I have beaten dps that were way better than myself simply because my supports just did a better job of helping me stay alive.
You clearly have a biased view for some reason. If a player is good enough they can carry on any role and carry potential is based on many factors.
Just the mere fact that players can solo Q unranked to GM on every role and pretty much every hero shows that carry potential is based on more than just what role you play.
lol you do realize that people like you are the reason people avoid voice.
you probably believe you’d win more if people would just listen to you, but what’s actually happening is that you’re way up your own a$$, and you ‘callouts’ and instructions are just passive aggressive jabs at other folk’s playstyle.
yep I will join voice when people are calm, mature and camly speak to each other. Which will never happen cause competitive video games are a cesspool of emotionally unstable nerds.
I have, and I am a good support myself. But that doesn’t change the fact that games are won by things dying, not healing. Healing can’t even outheal most damage now, it’s simply a way to keep your team alive longer. But if your team is useless, keeping them alive longer will inevitably lead to nothing.
When I am fed up of having terrible DPS, I play DPS myself and the difference between carry levels on each role is very obvious.
Idk who Jay3 is and I have never watched ML7 but if Jay3 is a DPS of equal skill to ML7’s support, absolutely.
Well it depends on what your enemies team was like. The point was that DPS have more carry potential than supports, I didn’t say a single DPS can 1v5 the entire enemy who is also high skilled.
But if anyone was going to carry a poor performing team, is it one of the DPS.
Not true. Supports can only enable good players to be better. They cannot enable trash players. What good is healing and utility if your DPS can’t do anything with it?
You realise the vast majority of unranked to GMs are played on DPS? I think that says enough.
