You can get banned for puns now

“tell someone how to play correctly”

Even downplaying it you still sound toxic…

Really? U find this toxic? U ain’t gonna survive mid east where friends tell each other to off themselves for fun and as banter…
Maybe it’s a cultural thing

Seriously??? I knew Blizzard was a bit sensitive about MR but I didn’t realize it went THAT far

Blizzard’s naming policy regarding BattleTag names is your friend here.

Third-Party Rights:

Names cannot infringe on the rights of any other person or entity, including trademarks, copyrights, or celebrity names.

Starlord is an MCU character, and that is a trademarked name owned by Disney, so yeah, it’s not appropriate. You also can’t have titles in your name like “King,” “Queen,” or “Lord,” so even if Disney didn’t have a trademark on the name “Starlord,” the second half of your name would still be a violation.

You used the chat function.
That was the one and only mistake.

My one and only temp ban was because I wrote something to the effect of “the solution to cancer RNG in MH is easy: Remove dupes”
BOOM, 14 day ban, all because a stack of people I ran into like 3 matches in a row were salty that they kept losing.

This is an important factor with the automated report system and abuse.

I’m sure people have seen the MANY blizzard supporters regurgitate the claim of only one report counting per match so you must be a cheater or you were toxic enough to deserve it but they fail to realize if you play a less popular game mode you will queue into some of the same people over and over again and they will keep reporting you every game resulting in unjust punishment.

I don’t believe the one vote per game counting anyways but it’s really pathetic people can’t see how abuse is still possible even if it was true.

What about HULK?!

:scream_cat:

You typed in chat. That’s what you did wrong.

For whatever reason, there are a subset of players who will report anyone who does this, no matter what they say. Combine that with players who will think you’re being toxic (which is not a stretch with the way trolls weaponize gg online) and you are stacking up reports on the regular.

I played factions once. I built a faction and then one of the members betrayed us and destroyed the base. I stopped playing factions after that.

We used to deal with insiders/griefing like that too. CoreProtect was a plugin that logged every single interaction, block, item modified; we used it to roll-back any actions done specifically by a player, basically undoing the griefing.

I don’t know what server you played on but it could have been possible. Nonetheless people are vile.

Good I would ban you for that also.

I reported someone last week who’s name was literally "Nword"slayer

And I ran into them again today

Yeah i was surprised too. After MR released this happened.

yall gotta learn by now that it’s not what you say. The context of whatever you type in chat has no meaning. You can type toxic stuff, you can type jokes, you can type just gg, and a report is still a report, regardless of what it’s for. No one’s looking at the context or validity of the report. You accumulate reports for any reason people feel like pushing a button = punishment, that’s all there is to it.
