You can be 31-5 as a DPS and still lose

This game is a joke. DPS contribution is still basically nothing in this game lol. I’m just so much better, and it still doesn’t matter. You have to 5k by yourself or lose in certain matches. Kill 2-4 each fight? Doesn’t matter.

5v5 didn’t make this any better than 6v6. It’s still just as bad.

This not just a DPS problem.

Edit: Like dawg…

I promise you this is not just a DPS issue.

And these are the only screenshots I have saved because these games unironically were all 3 in a row. All 3 losses.

I PROMISE YOU, it’s not just a DPS problem.

if DPS determined the outcome of any match in this game, I don’t think anyone would play. If there’s no teamwork, you won’t win, period. You cannot be a hero who carries hard without having some help.

In a team based game, your individual performance doesnt determine overall outcome of the match? Now that is surprising…

I’ve had 20k+ healing in a game plus 17 saves and still lost. This isn’t CoD or Fortnite. It’s a team game and you can’t win them all.

lol

Not in QP, it’s not…

Hell, a lot of times not even Comp.

No different than someone scoring 50 in an NBA game and losing….team games aren’t just determined by what one person does

Big number correlates to, but does not cause, victories.

It’s ofc no problem in, say, OWL.

The problem started when the absolute majority plays solo. In this case, emphasizing the teamplay with randos more is no different than luck is involved more. It’s the gap between ideals and realityo.

Right? Hard carry is too selfish, teammates need particiation trophies too!

I remember games where the other dps were gapping ours by a huge margin but we still won by pushing the payload further than them, it’s not a dps problem it’s a team problem, no point in just stat farming if you don’t follow up on it

Even in QP, yes.

The most cohesive team wins, be it in QP or grandmaster ranked.

People want to single carry like they do in CSGO and Valorant?

I’ve had a game a few days ago that I almost lost with 57 elims

There is something to be said about how the game has slowly removed the ability to make up for the weakest chain in your team. 2 tanks and defense dps heroes specially used to make up for deficient tanks. Now there is basically nothing saving you from a bad tank player.

But no one is expecting pro-team cohesion and teamwork from randos.

What people expect from you in the real game is some level of situation reading and not to pick Dva when your entire team isnt going to swap to Dive to enable you. Not picking Hog when they are using double snipers and then whining that your team is mostly dead by the time the teamfight actually starts.

This is a game mode problem (or rather, people playing a mode poorly).

This was excessively common in the worst gamemode ever made, 2CP. A team could lose the game by winning 5x more team fights, just because they didn’t play those fights properly and didn’t stall properly.

Think about it like this. Someone contributes 2 elims minimum each fight and the team cannot take advantage of a 5 v 3. I would be frustrated too. The dps is doing their job and the rest of the team drops the ball. That is frustrating as heck.

I can also understand how they can be wasting time getting spawn camp kills in fights they are not present in. Then it makes sense they are putting their team at odds.

People tend to focus solely on kills while completely ignoring the fact that overwatch is an OBJECTIVE BASED GAME. You can get as many kills as you like, but your not playing a team death match. You can wipe an entire team but if they capture the point or claim an objective, your kills mean nothing.

I can understand the frustration with being able to give your team an advantage by killing a couple people and still losing, but if you can’t work with your team and focus on the objective, your kills won’t matter.

This is why c9’ing is a thing. You get so focused on kills that you end up forgetting or disregarding the very thing that causes you to win a match, like capturing the point or holding the objective. That’s cool you got a 4k with your ult, but they capped the point.

And you’ve won games going 15-11
