Define bot. I definitely might be a human.

I definitely am indeed, a human bot burger.

LMFAO! His English is terrible, but he couldn’t be more right. Sadly, these days psychologists are a part of the process of game development. Its pretty hard for people to accept that they are being manipulated though. Just look at the current gaming landscape… lootboxes everywhere. Do some research on gambling psychology.

If you do not like it, do not pay for it or play the games which have lootboxes, what can one say. Of course the developers want to make a game as addictive as possible, its not like they make their money out of it, right? Thing is, it is not the worst system at all when you stay cosmetics, so it ain’t an issue for me at all. You got games out there which are pay 2 win, where you get all kinds of boosts for your money, you know. People even pay good money for pixels on private servers (Lineage 2 comes to mind). OW does not even compare, believe me.

Eh. Some people play the game without buying loot bags/boxes/keys. I agree games are designed to keep you playing but its not all the gambling, or even part of it for many people.

Not sure how it’s an online casino

Nobody ever talks about this. This is just my opinion but I think blizz did their research on how casino’s keep people playing. If you think about it casinos are horrible… yet people keeping going and throwing alot of money away. It’s the psychology of winning and losing. Take 10 games as an example. Say you win all 10 games. You’ll get 5 dopamine points.(again just an example) Same 10 games but this time you lose 9 but come close on the 5th and win the 10th. Now you get 15 dopamine points. This promotes addiction and is what happens to brain while playing. Basically, more losses make every win “feel better”. It’s not the lootboxes.

Why do this? Probably because they alway had owl in mind and needed to create a community of dedicated players to support it. But what they got was a community of addicts who don’t really care about how to play. Now, alot of people have a ton of issues with the game but yet can’t stop playing…addiction. As long as we keep playing the matchmaker is working as intended.

You act if there were no mmorpgs for the devs to gather experience with in how to keep people playing. Three guesses what kind of game Blizzard is famous for. Lootboxes are more like that less loot we have left over from the mmorpg world, than actual tables at poker.

Text in OP not triangle. Made me sad…

I didn’t. I was saying that ow uses gambling psychology. They just do it differently from other games. Other games use lootboxes while blizz has managed to build it into their matchmaker. Either way addiction is the end goal.

And don’t get me wrong, Im not saying climbing is impossible. It’s possible to beat the system purely with individual skills… but this is a team game.
