I think it was dumb for them to implement timeouts for quick play aka CASUAL.
As a solo player, i will leave the game if team insta locked in with 4 dps and wouldnt budge…feels like they are throwing game by being braindead and feeding. I would see myself out…period.
Not going to put up trying to heal them to make the game intolerable for a longer period of time…or going pacifist reddit lucio around map for 10 minute and get reported for not contributing because team doesn’t want to win.
Yeah. It did me really well to hop on for some games yesterday only to get backfilled into a Shambali Monastery defense against a 4-5 stack because the defending stack left. Instant 10min ban from leaving that atrocity. I got one game in before that so it didn’t take long for the game to remind me that fun is not allowed in this game and that the reality of the game is a complete dogpile compared to the idea that we have of playing the game. Tuned into other games immediately after this and won’t most likely log in for a solid while again…
lol they have thought it through. They’ve explained it many many times using actual data. Only a TINY tiny fraction of the playerbase consistently leavers their QP games enough for them to be actually impacted by the timeouts. Meanwhile lots of players have to suffer when someone on their team ragequits and results in a steamroll that ruins the enjoyment for both teams. Discouraging that behavior is beneficial to everyone else even if it upsets a tiny minority of bad actors.
You can’t complain about “fun” but then get upset when you’re punished for ruining the fun of 9 other players who sat in queue waiting for that game.
If you want to close the game whenever it doesn’t go exactly your way then you should go play a single player game lol.
I’m super glad the Devs have continuously doubled down and held firm in their stance on this.
I’ve been on many teams that have 4 dps+ support, and those teams have beaten 3/2 and 4/1 tank supp teams.
I’ve been on the losing tank teams too.
And at times there’s nothing the dps team manages to do. (I solo queue)
It all comes down to teamwork and how well your team synergises.
I tried, dont like being unable to switch role to counter if somebody in my team lacking skill to do so.
So have i. But most of the time, it’s either being steamrolled or somebody constantly feeding.
anyway, im not really complaining about players picking their heroes…honestly lol. They can play whatever they want and however they want…who am i to tell them otherwise…?
Its more like why cant i leave the casual mode without being timed out? WHY implement timeouts for CASUAL MODE aka OPEN QUEUE where players do whatever they want to mess around? I should be able to LEAVE if i wanted to if they 4/1 dpsing 1 minute into a losing match against well rounded enemy team but didn’t want to counter.
Just leave that in role queue and comp where leavers are not tolerable.
