Yikes... they are enabling crossplay on Stadium

Let PC players opt-out, please.

Are they? If so, can we please fix LEAVERS canceling the lobbies, first?

They said leavers are no higher than in ranked. They’ll give more info next week. There are more stuff at

https://www.youtube.com/@playoverwatch/community. It’s the first post.

It would still be nice to adjust how cancelled matches are handled.
Just give the staying a win, the other team clearly forfeited.

It has a small playerbase to start off with and needs all the help it can get.

The amount is irrelevant. It cancels the game and you do not get rank. That’s BAD. Really bad.

Crank up leaver penalties.

I’m surprised they said high leaver right, I’ve played almost 20 matches and haven’t seen a single leaver.

If anyone thinks this is good to include cross play.

Should warm up a cup of tea and read through the comments on their X account.

Nope, no need for opt out. It’s 2025 and PC is the inclusive, open platform and there are no compelling arguments against cross play being enabled in Stadium alone.

Well done Blizzard, great that you’re listening.

I’ve had a bunch right at launch, not anymore. I did have an… individual, which I’m choosing to believe had a disconnection issue, leave EXACTLY when the first round started. Not soon enough to cancel the match, apparently. So we had to stick around until the third round because of that.

I personally don’t want it. I mean, it’s a competitive mode. We shouldn’t have people with fundamentally different equipment and mechanics competing on the same grounds, unless all are in agreement.

Yeah. If you leave a Stadium game and the system stays as is (so you don’t get rank) you should be banned from ALL modes for a day minimum. Those games take way too long for you to get nothing from them

That perfectly describes the PC pool where some are on laptops, some are on desktops, some are even streaming to handhelds. Some use mice, some controllers, some trackballs, some don’t use keyboards. Some have their PC hooked up to a TV and some are playing on a phone screen. There are all manner of combinations and freedom to play the game how you like, that’s PC gaming.

When it comes to Stadium itself there are no legacy ranks and everyone is starting at the bottom. The good players will rise upwards using whatever hardware, software or platform.

Except that its not lol. Yes it has a rank system for some reason, but they are promoting it as “a great way for new players to try out the game before playing the main game” if stadium is going to be their beginner course, then it is in no way competitive.

I don’t really want the crossplay only either. Because that means it’s on by default nobody turns it off and then we have crazy queues in console only. I get people want it to play with friends which is valid. But I just don’t want to play with PC let alone with hackers too.

My only concern is cheaters. It’s a big reason I don’t play on PC anymore.

It could end up killing the mode for me if it’s required crossplay. I don’t want cheaters either. Don’t care to deal with pc cheaters. And pc players don’t want to deal with players who’s equipment is a lot of slower. If they make a new unranked mode then by all means make that crossplay. But they shouldn’t be making the only mode crossplay required.

I understand that argument but you can avoid that situation in the main modes of Overwatch, including options for casual and competitive.

Stadium has no such distinction and on top of the stuff mentioned in my last post, people who regularly play cross platform matches in a social group are totally denied even playing the new mode with their friends as there is no casual option which enables it. I’m not calling for cross platform competitive (I know it already exists between consoles) in all the modes, although it might be worth considering for lesser populated modes like Open Queue, but just argreeing with Blizzard that it should be a thing in Stadium.

In this specific case the benefits outwiegh the negatives and there’s still options to play Overwatch in the traditional way with traditional restrictions too.

I’m happy to have a wider matchmaking pool, and I have no issue playing with PC people from a hardware difference perspective. I’m not saying it’s the wrong move. I just worry about that part of it.

The game mode has been out 3 days and suddenly everyone’s an expert on how crossplay will affect it?

It’s not like this is Destiny 2 where controllers basically aim snipers for you (if ya know ya know…)

The whole “there’s cheaters on PC” argument is nonsense. You dont know what you’re talking about. I’ve seen 3 hackers in OW2 since the game came out. We have kill cameras. hackers get banned pretty quick in this game.

I want crossplay so i can play with my xbox friends and my son. I could care less about controller/mouse balancing. It doesn’t matter. It’s an arena mode that’s meant to turn every character into a super hero and goof around. If you’re taking Stadium seriously, you forgot how to play video games.
