YET ANOTHER WARNING. And I dont use chat

On 18 october, 2024, I recieved a warning for abusive chat, and I dont use chat. This was within one week of playing.

I sat back and wondered, was it pings? Voiceline? Did i say “no heals with you right now” on mic and somehow it got Transcripted odd??

Yet I can see every game others (and usually the same players) flaming, blaming, ranting, and cursing in comms. If not outright making adult references.

Why was I warned?
I believe this is because I play long stretches of competitive, mostly Torb. The reports must be automated, and players must be salty.

Even when i have great stats, playing w team, etc, people will still “blame the torb” or whatever hero they dont like, or someone else with low stats on scoreboard.

Meanwhile, you can see other (usually the flamer) not grouping up, wasting ults, not tracking enemy ults, 0 cooldown awareness, just running down mid over and over, while flaming team. 0 poaitioning calls. Just flame.

I dont understand. I try to play well, and i dont use chat, maybe i say “ana no nade” or “junk 1hp” but hardly more than that. I definitely do not bother conversing with players.

This time, i will be saying NOTHING. nothing at all, but watching the flame, and reporting it all.

I am wondering how long it will take to get yet another warning, suspension whatever, when i DO NOT USE CHAT AT ALL.

All of this is logged on a private stream.

Once you have been warned, the punishments come faster. If this is happening a lot, you are probably close to a suspension. I would hop on an alt myself; however, I have been informed that it does not work that way and the reports to do decay over time but instead by time played. I guess playing quickplay as a support for awhile will help the heat die down and mitigate your false reports. That’s a conspiracy, but I tested it and it worked for me. Endorsements seem to help. I am endorsement 5 on my troll account that was never actioned.

Either way, good luck.

My friend was banned for “offensive communication” or something weird due to t’bugin (the actual word isn’t permitted on forums if that tells you how fragile this community is).
He never t’bugged in his life and never used chat. He no longer plays because of that 1 week ban.

Another friend got banned because of voice chat claimed he was saying profane things.
I gamed with him every night. He was never toxic and was super upbeat, golden retriever energy all game.
Only thing we could think of is that his accent might not have let Text To Speech convert what he’s saying correctly and got him banned for a month.
He also no longer plays.

I got banned for offensive language.
Contacted support for the entirety of the ban. Never got a reply, automated or otherwise. So I still to this day don’t know what my ban was for, because I only play with friends and only use group voice chat unless I type “gg”.

What I’ve learned is in order to play OW2:
Keep your mic muted externally (not in game…but through the physical mute button located on most mics. Don’t let it record any audio)
Don’t type anything. Ever. And play with chats disabled so you can’t see the enemy team.
As far as you’re aware the game is PvE and there are no other players in the lobby, just bots.
Enjoy OW2.

Ah, yes, I remember when the forums convened to determine whether we should censor that highly offensive word. It was a narrow decision. I was the swing vote, actually. That was when I was reminded that tea was anti-American and we had a second Boston Tea Party before banning that disgraceful term.

I got warned after kinda… sexually harassing Jay3 for a game and I just turned chat off lol

Not risking a ban

That’s… I mean, yeah, totally. Jay3’s hairline has me acting unwise as well. Who could blame you?
