Gamemode didn’t really land as hard as usual. I remember last year there were a lot of heroes I played 2-5 matches on but this year a lot of them I swapped after 1 or 2 lives. Like weaver petal going super high up was a fun little gimmick that changes gameplay enough to be interesting, his gun becoming the most scuffed clunky version of the halo needler not so much. The ideas are still amusing just not as fun in real gameplay
I thought the bottom 500 title was funny, but 99 matches (wins = double) in 2 weeks near the end of the season, come on man
Ducky Orisa is a popular and fitting skin to give away, but again fairly grindy
Googley eye joke was already kinda stale, but they kept it around much longer than usual which is lame
And the voicelines are still on for some reason. I should not be dying in quickplay because of an April fool’s voiceline on April 5th
Should fire person making this 1st april this year. Hamster april’s day.
The year before tweaks were fun, but now some heroes are broken, others are completely unplayable.
Plus event challenges are kinda troll
It feels much worse than last year’s, basically forcing certain picks if you actually want to play and not just mess around. At least the 99 games don’t have to be this mode (though the 55 one does).
Anyone going Ball or Echo just break the fun of the mode. And yea, the grind for the last few rewards is set a little to high for a “quick” fun mode.
I would rather be playing Comp 6v6 but I’m probably not gonna hit the 99 games in time there, so yea, stuck in April Fools for the quicker 55 games in order to get the Orisa skin.
Ball is atrocious to play against in April Fools event.
Small, fast, quite Tanky
In order to make Ball easier to be shot at, you must willingly get hit by his fireball to increase his size but Ball players can avoid that by abusing Piledrive and less fireballing.
It was better than anything they did in the sequel outside of Overwatch Classic (the first one). That’s not saying much. But it’s true. Ripping off Mahvel kits made the game more fun.
Not nearly as bad as you think. It’s not just in this new mode, but any counts towards (guess even A.I.). I’m already like 80 games out of those 99 and that’s mostly just for doing the standard weekly challenges.
I’ve grown to hate that. Already didn’t like it cause it takes away cancel on charge and now there’s always gonna be an insta-lock Rein that just keeps diving in the whole game, scoring 15+ deaths with barely more kills (if that). My Rein power fantasy is being a brick wall to shield everything and not the Road Runner.
