Yeah I'm done, this matchmaking is the worst I've ever seen

Every game, gold 5 to diamond 5 lobby. That gap is absolutely massive, it may as well just be quickplay. Where’s the integrity in competitive? If you’re lucky enough to get a tight rank range in a game, it’ll just be smurfs anyway. It’s insanely boring and after waiting for 7-8 seasons for Blizzard to fix the matchmaking, I’ve run out of patience. It was a good run folks, cya.

100% agree. If you’re playing anything between gold and diamond, it’s a complete crapshoot as to the teams you’re going to get. If you ACTUALLY deserve to be in Diamond+, good luck climbing out of those ranks on an old account.

The devs don’t care. All they care about is the in-game shop. They should be fired and replaced with people that actually care about game integrity.

There is no integrity in this game, competitive wise.

Competitive means fighting opponents of equal ranks, something they’ve failed miserably with in this game.

They’ve done nothing but make excuses for the wide range matchmaking, along with moot arguments, supported by their content creators and white knights.

1 rank = 5 divisions, so when placing 3 ranks against each other, you’re talking 15 divisions. That’s a huge gap and the skill gap from gold 5 to diamond 5 is massive.

Well, It certainly isn’t a game worthy of being a sequel. It’s Overwatch 0.5, a glorified and overpriced cash shop, with a free game inside. Nothing more.

Nail on the head.

The devs should resign.

Yeah, they did lay off people, unfortunately they laid off the wrong people. The people who’s managing this game, or mismanaging rather, should’ve been the ones to get tossed out the door first.

The reason the matchmaker is so broken is 2 fold.

A:) They reset the ladder.

B:) In order for queues to not go past 10 minutes for dps players they have to be liberal with SR spreads.

C) People are grouped with people that are in a way lower rank than themselves leading to a massive rank disparity in a lobby. This shafts people trying to rank up by solo queuing.

This matchmaking system is awful.
In 10 games i often have:
4 games with easy win
4 games where we were stomped
1 win where we fough hard to win
1 defeat where we fough hard, but we lost

Is like its really priorizing an 50% winrate instead balanced games… one of the main reasons i’ll take a break from this game

Could you share the replay of these 10 games so we can see if it’s true or not?

Thx.

The climb back to GM was a absolute brutal and very unfun experience. (Tank player)

I started in Diamond 2 if I remember correctly. The games range from Gold 2- Diamond 2 and Gold 1 to Diamond 1.

I was constantly in games that had Gold 1 and low plat players in my Diamond 1 games. I literally had to give it everything I had and then some.

My Mid Masters games were far more easier. Still had some up and downs but nothing compared to breaking through Diamond 1 into Masters.

The skill gap and fundamental understanding of off angles, taking space, target prioritizing was way too wide.

I have a feeling this is going to last at least another season before it eventually evens out.

I honestly dont understand why the wide gap. The games didn’t start to feel balanced until I hit Masters.

I honestly don’t understand the point of even having a “Rank” if they’re just going to lump 2-3 ranges together anyway.

Masters isn’t much better, I was GM took a big break, got masters and I find a bunch of plats on my team against a nearly full team of masters players. Haven’t touched the game since, only came back because. “This season’s a fun season” nah this season is a casual season where anyone can play anyone and anyone can self heal. Hard pass.

Why do they allow gold and diamonds to queue for comp together as groups or match making.

The skill diff is huge

I get that. But in making the matchmaking worse, they are creating awful experiences n matches, which makes people quit playing, thereby increasing the queue times. They need to improve the game ASAP with a range of changes to get players back and keep them playing. Forget this stupid SR spread.

Hypothetically yes. In reality, this isn’t happening. Player numbers aren’t really moving up or down. They’ve been in the same window for about a year now.

You sound like a Blizzard customer service employee - and where is your data to back this up? It doesn’t matter, you can manipulate and interpret data how you want. It’s clear OW2 has not enough players, even down to 5 per team, which is why they implemented such a wide range matchmaking system. The result is the same - a very wide skill range in matchmaking results in a higher number of poor and one sided matches. Just awful user experience.

To return your quote to you.

Even the laughable numbers on steam have increased.

Your profile has a huge amount of posts. Can you confirm or deny whether you are a Blizzard emloyee?

I will not confirm or deny. Maybe you should learn how to react to other opinions, or being wrong. Instead of this hilarious troll.

Good luck.

i have quited the game too , i was stuck low plat on my main account , so i created a new account and the second was placed in high diamond ( almost master) season 8 , the only diff i noticed in diamond is ppl play a bit quicker and a bit more safe but without that it’s exactly the same thing , same random noobs and same gods at the game.

I tried again this season , i’ve made 7 games on my main for not throwing and it was a complete mess , i’ve won 3 games but i’ve should won 4 or 5 so i uninstalled the game.

The game is frustrating when you lose and stressful when you win, it’s at the point where i was almost scared to lunch an other game because i didn’t wanted to take a huge lose streak , even if you climb get ready to lose that again until you climb back at the same point you started.
