When hero bans get here I’m perma banning mercy and lifeweaver just so no one on my team selects these people.
Matter of fact, blizzard this is to you directly, unless you people plan to make these 2 heroes and honestly toss moira in there too, not entirely cosmetic and the biggest detriment to have on the team?
Just lock them in comp. Prevent people from selecting them. I’m so tired of support players picking these abysmal trash can heroes and just losing because of it. Idk if it’s an NA thing, or just an overwatch thing but good god support players on this game in the NA region are genuinely incapable of creating a support backline that makes any ounce of sense.
And all those people say “oh in 6v6 if your off / main tank didn’t pick something that paired with you it was an auto loss” yea news flash, that problem still exists, it just got transferred over to your dps and support roles.
If supports pick a backline that doesn’t make sense, and the enemy team does, you just lose.
“i’ll seek to potentially handicap my team out of spite (by banning a character I dislike and that they could be good at) instead of helping (by banning a character that could pose a problem to play against)” seems like the very definition of griefing, honestly.
Why don’t you just afk in the respawn when someone pick a character you don’t like, then? It’s basically the same. Or better yet, play support so that you can choose.
So then you find yourself with a support or two who may or may not know how to play other heroes, and maybe nowhere near as well, while the enemy team is free to possibly play the strong supports. Yeah, I dunno.
Shouldn’t be an issue for me. GM Mercy players are generally good at their hero enough for me to work with them, heck, even make them look OP.
Wanting the options for support to go down to single digits because you’re feeling spiteful? Yikes.

You’ve clearly just had a series of really bad games, because otherwise you would not be here asking for a large chunk of the support picks to be dumpstered because you’re feeling petty.
I might choose Mercy as #1 and Pharah as #2. If either is banned, my supporting is more enjoyable. If Mercy is banned, I don’t need to match enemy pockets or deal with Pharah. If Pharah is banned, no more Pharah needing a Mercy thus more support freedom. Nothing personal
Yeah but those reasons have actual meaning behind them. It isn’t ‘I want them banned because I hate that other people on my own team play those characters.’
I want to win and those heroes are an active detriment towards my winning whenever they are picked. I’d much rather have a mediocre ana / juno / kiriko, than a mercy specialist / lifeweaver specialist because ana / juno / kiriko is just an objectively better hero in every way and I’d have a better chance at winning with that mediocre ana / juno / kiriko.
Weird because last time I checked your team has 5 players on it, counting you.
Besides, I’ve won countless games with both AS and WITH Liveweaver and Mercy. I think the problem lies in you, honestly. You want to be carried like a baby.
