Ya'll know Talon is a terrorist organization, right?

And that they’re supposed to be the villains of the story?
And that we really shouldn’t be rooting for them no matter how popular their members are?

Seriously, the game and the story is about Overwatch (the organization). I dunno why are people surprised that no, we’re not getting a Talon mission where you help the bad guys win

Maybe Overwatch doesn’t have a happy ending :3

I mean it would be interesting to see all sides of the war, the good and the bad in the story. We got OW, Blackwatch and it was time for Talon.
And it is still possibly time for Talon since nothing is confirmed.

I mean, look at the final level of Halo Reach.

You can still create phenomenal PvE with an unwinnable outcome.

Uhm, I think you’re reading too much into it, buddy.

I would not be surprised if we get a Talon mission in the next year or two.

Terrorists, or freedom fighters? Only way to find out definitively is for Blizzard to write some lore.

We already played as villains, though, and I don’t just mean in non-canon matches taking place after “Recall”.

The last Archives event had us playing as Blackwatch. According to the wiki:

“There were stories of [Blackwatch engaging in] assassination, coercion, kidnapping, torture, and worse.”

So Reyes was evil back when he was overseeing all of that, Moira has always been Moira and was part of Overwatch more for the opportunities that came with it than out of any desire to do good, and Genji at that time was all bloodthirsty and full of rage. McCree was the only person on the team with any conscience to speak of at the time.

So it wouldn’t be unusual for us to play as Talon. Hell, if the story was set prior to Baptiste’s departure and if he was part of it, we’d have at least one person with a conscience on that team, too.

What is good and evil is subjective. People could see Talon as saviors rather than monsters.

THANK YOU I’VE POSTED SOMETHING SIMILAR ON SO MANY POSTS TODAY AND I’M RUNNING ON STEAM NOW

Ok, shouting over, but thank you

Terrorists organizations are interesting, at one point the founding fathers where considered terrorists by Great England.

Operating outside the law has always draw attention, hatred and admiration… for better or worse.

O please, like the Overwatch organisation was all good.

  • Winston left his friend behind on the moon during a bad time. Ntt once has he tried going back and check up on him. He basically left him for dead.
  • Mei and her colleagues were left in Cryo-Freeze for 9 years and not one Overwatch member thought to check up on them, not even after the disbandment of the organisation.
  • Genji was kinda forced to join in Overwatch in trade of having his body restored. (Mercy is such a kind doctor, isn’t she?)
  • They allowed Moira to perform genetic experiments. (I mean, Reaper had his abilities during the Archives brawl.)
  • They fought in Kings Row despite it being against the rules, but they left Ominics fall victim in Junkertown. (Omnists much?)

I’m not saying Talon isn’t bad, but Overwatch and its members weren’t exactly goody-two-shoes either.

Many people played Metal Gear Solid and thought Big Boss was a big evil maniac and then you get to know the story and play as him and … yeah, debatable.

The point is that there is a grey area and changing perspectives can change a lot. Even just getting older can change a lot your views.

The thing that differentiates Talon from most other terrorist organizations is that they want EVERYBODY to suffer, the reasoning behind that more or less being “It’ll build character.” So nobody can really point to them and say “Thank god for Talon, what they’re doing hurts my oppressors!”

(I mean, I guess that maybe Talon might go after somebody’s oppressors sometimes, but only if overthrowing an oppressive government would lead to the kind of chaos that they want to see.)

Well tbf about Junkertown does anybody even know it exists? Plus the place’s a wasteland and unlike King’s Row the Junkers are mostly secluded and keep to themselves, unlike NULL Sector who were extremists that took a bunch of people hostage

Junkrat and Roadhog are wanted heroes.
In the comic were they even hired by a shady businessman.

And how can people not know of Junker Town’s existence?

Wasteland or not, if Overwatch was all about equal rights and protecting the innocent, then those Ominics in Junker Town were helped. Terrorism or not.

I think at this point people just love to complain because it’s trendy.

Oh, it’s not the mission I wanted? Gg, Bleggard, thanks for nothing, unsubbed.

…all of that happened after Overwatch disbanded

Well antagonists are the force of change in most stories. They need to win sometimes.

But beside that there are people who think William is the good guy of Falling Down, and that maybe we should be more sympathetic towards The Joker.

I doubt a fictional, flamboyant League of Villainy staffed by at least a few maybe Anti-Heroes is going to get the reception it would realistically recieve.

True.
But the other points I first listed didn’t.

My point still stands. Overwatch organisation and its members are not always good. They too have done immoral things.

It honestly doesn’t it was disassembled after these events
