The turret may be stationary, but it has 225hp — which, need I remind you, is more than the entire Support roster and the majority of the dps roster — and deals 56 damage per second with a maximum range of 40m.
It was fine in 6v6, when we had a second tank who could take it out. We don’t have that anymore, since we’re under 5v5 and all that.
Agree for everything except Tracer. I draw a distinction between ranged hitscan and close range hitscan. Tracer, Reaper and Sombra are all flankers with hitscan weapons, and don’t get powercreeped like the hitscan gods (Widow, Ashe, S76, Mcree).
Idk why blizzard is to scared to give Widow, Ashe damage numbers. Or force her to have a Mercy like every none one shot sniper character needs to one shot her
in some ways they are because the size of the projectile hitbox is alot larger then the hitscan bullet.
now from my perspective its balanced because of the travel time in most cases. but for instance at really close range you should never miss a shot with a projectile because the hitbox will clip the enemy 100% of the time.
i typically view hitscan as being harder in the early stages of aim (when people cant aim) with projectile being easier (since you can spam) but in the later stages (when people can actually aim) hitscan becomes alot easier to get value out of, almost to an oppressive level in some cases.
Their track record for projectile DPS:
Echo: actually seems pretty balanced
Genji: was strong for years. is still strong after like a dozen nerfs.
Hanzo: huge ez broken “sniper”
Junkrat: ezclap
Pharah: forces hitscan, unfun to fight in literally any scenario
Sojourn: Sojourn.
Torbjorn: is genuinely terrible.
They have yet to release a balanced projectile DPS.
Because projectiles allow for “unfair” fights. You shoot projecitle and hide back in cover, so enemy can’t really hurt you, but still can get hit by projectile you shot earlier. If you can predict, when enemy will walk around the corner, sometimes you can even get enemy killed with one having no chance to fight you or even see you.
