Well well well, here’s another story from the streamer that played OW for many years and now is never going back to play OW till OW2 is out, the result is… he changed his name by deleting O and W, (which these letters are the sigles that stand for Overwatch.)
I was used to watch xQc streams playing other games instead OW every day when he decides to stream 1 year ago.
In conclusion is this gonna affect OW’s reputation? Because of that i heard many tweets from OW streamers saying that OW viewership is taking L’s because xqc is changing his name to xqc only without the O and W.
I mean, hes said multiple times that pursuing towards being a pro made him absolutely hate this game. It made it a 16hr chore, which effectively killed all his enjoyment with it.
Plus he liked dive, and while its made its short lived come backs… its not the same dive it used to be.
Also… doesnt he just stream whatever game now? Including mobile games? Let the man move on if he wants to, this obviously isnt the same game as it used to be and that shouldn’t shock anyone.
That explains why OW1 and OW2 are the same game, in the other hand xQc played variety of other games instead OW which i was interested to watch him in twitch.
I mean, despite the echo-chambers that insist OW2 will be the best game ever, the general public’s response has been very “meh”. The beta failed to entice the majority of players to come back, and that’s from a combination of lack of content, confusing identity, and poor marketing. In general gaming communities, nobody is talking about OW2 outside of making jokes about it. xQc probably saw that OW2’s stream numbers were insignificant (including the OWL numbers) and decided it wasn’t worth giving another shot.
Given he’s destroying any decency he ever had attached to his reputation with all the gambling nonsense, the less linked he is to Overwatch the better.
