Xqc ‘ow2 not as fun’

‘All roles are now hybrid dps and feel the same’

‘Every support and tank is now just a hybrid dps’

‘I enjoyed having super tanks, supports and dps’

‘Having 1 tank makes the game a deathmatch’

‘You have less control and the game is no longer as intricate and fun’

Shocker :scream: Not like the anti-5v5 people called this a year ago when it was first pitched  just seems blizzard continue to listen to the wrong demographic of players and continue to kill this franchise. People are already dropping this game hard. Even some of the most prolific members of the community are talking about taking a break from it. We are <2 months in to the game and people are already done

Not every game needs to be a fast paced, low ttk Cod/valorant clone. You can have slow methodical, strategic gameplay which is a major reason a lot of us played this game. The fact it wasnt all about just shooting each other, the fact you had heroes that had lower skill floors. Being able to accel at a game not because of pure mechanics but also game knowledge and awareness.

All of it out the window. For what? To chase clout? To try and recapture an audience that just sees your game as a joke? How’s that going for you?

How does it feel to have spent years developing a game, which you intended to appeal to a certain demographic, just for those players to not be interested and leave anyway? And in the meantime, you neglect the loyal community you had and pushed them to the side to chase money :rofl::rofl: Classic blizzard trying to have their cake and eat it too. Every single time it has just made the game worse for everyone. When you dont pick a side and instead just try to sit in the middle, both sides just leave.

We have spent 6 years trying to balance simultaneously for both pros and casuals. How has that turned out? Years of absolute misery as you shed players year after year

We spent 6 years trying to combat toxicity and throwers whilst allowing smurf accounts to exist. Has anything improved? No arguably the situation has gotten worse.

Now we are in a situation where we are trying to appeal to the hard core shooter fps demographic whilst also trying to keep your old playerbase who played the game because of the role-based gameplay and strategy that came with it.

Pick a side! For once! Choose!

If you want this to be a low ttk fps, great. All of us that came to Overwatch for the role gameplay can all quit right now. Remove/rework tanks and supports and you can have your own valorant

If you want to be the strategic hero shooter the original game was, you are going the complete opposite direction.

They got what they asked for. I said this would happen once they started removing character identities and watering down kits.

They will continue this death spiral of watering down kits as they constantly nerf whatever meta rotates in just like in late OW1.

My advice: make every hero powerful. Damage players will have to accept that Support’s job is to deny your plays. Support players who survive highly lethal dps that can kill them in a few seconds should be rewarded with play-making actions… which will ruin your fun.

There is no free lunches.

Which is why I was livid when they nerfed Moira’s right-click cone in the name of increasing her skill. It actually made her even easier to play in higher ranks as non-impaired players can aim easily with it and it got compensated buffed with more resource extraction.

All that change did was make Moira less accessible for physically impaired players who had the gamesense of high elo, but not the mechanical skill. The change only screwed over the impaired. It was a legitimate ablest move.

And now they are clamoring for Moira to get reworked so she requires more mechanical skill.

I can’t take anyone who says the game feels like Deathmatch seriously, if I’m being totally honest

They need to stop ruining heroes through reworks. It’s like they just take your favourite thing in the game away and then wonder why players quit. Since they removed Mei’s freeze which was my fave thing in OW the game just sucks for me. And before Mei I mained support Sym who they completely deleted/ruined.

I have tried to be positive about OW2 but frankly it sucks. Things like removing CC was a mistake because that is what made OW special. Not surprised people are leaving.

Did they have to go 5vs5? They never saw how standard 6vs6 would do when free.

This is extremely important to understand. It cannot be overstated how vigorously top level streamers and pro players begged Blizzard for this to happen.

They begged for Blizzard to turn this game into other popular shooters. They wanted to be Valorant or Apex. They were tired of playing the “uncool” game. Well, they got their wish, all the “cool” streamers played OW2 for a week and said nice things about it. Hope it was worth it to remove everything unique and fun in the game.

They also begged for F2P so the game could be supported with more content, and we have less than ever, which is itself less accessible than ever (and worse quality).

This is what happens when you give a tiny slice of the playerbase a direct channel to the dev team and ignore everyone else.

You think CC (And more specifically stuns) is what made OW special…? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

yeah the streamers have alot to answer for. For example, they rage and scream and shout when Mei freezes them, so they removed Mei’s freeze. But they were only raging and screaming dramatically for views, Mei’s freeze was never that oppressive, it was just slightly annoying.

XQC has a right to their own opinion but if that’s their primary stance for why they don’t like OW2 then I can’t take them seriously. I never did, but I never will now.

CC never killed Overwatch, that was such an ignorant take that they pandered to. 2016-2017 OW1 had more frequent CC and it was still popular. It was extremely easy to charge Grav/Blizzard/Earthshatter before the back-to-back global ult charge nerfs. The game was mega popular then.

What killed Overwatch 1 was horrible balance decisions. Like Mei getting a piercing left-click which resulted in her freeze being cut in half, and wall nerfed.

maybe his phone had a stroke and autocorrected “frustrating” to “special”, that’s the only way it would make any sense

I don’t listen/watch streamers because the vast majority are worse than I am. What was he selling on his stream?

You had me until the XQC part.

He was fine with 5v5, thought OW2 was getting too much hate, then it wasn’t, and didn’t… it’s XQC. He’s a react streamer giving hot takes based on the last 15 seconds of his life.

A Seagull, or something, has a lot more insight regarding 5v5’s impact.

All they needed to do was keep 6v6 but limit tanks to 1 shield 1 non-shield.

Yup. The same people that asked for this are the same people now complaining about it. Hilarious.

Its why i cant take people like flats seriously. 1 day he is shilling for them, defending every move they make. The next he is angry and complaining.

Like he was literally saying how amazing the monetisation in this game is. How its the best in the industry. 3 weeks later posts a video

‘ow2 monetisation is a problem’

Pick a side dude.

op conveniently leaving out that xQcs defining traits are being dumb and being annoying. So yeah figures he looks at Kiriko, a heal bot with cleanse and the ability to run away, and thinks “Yeah that’s basically a DPS”

who care what he thinks. Hasn’t played seriously in 4 years. He’s not really part of the OW community any more, he’s another generic streamer. Frankly if him disliking the game drives his fans away, that’s a bonus.

Blizzard.
Blizzard care :joy:

He is the exact type of player they were designing the game toward. People who stopped playing ow1 for whatever reason.

The fact we have had an entire sequel release and nothing has majorly changed for Overwatch’s exposure is utterly embarrassing.

We are basically back where we were in September  Now that the honeymoon period is over its becoming pretty clear nothing much has improved.

All the cracks are starting to reappear again and the ship is starting to sink. All they did was paint over the cracks and try to distract people with the pretty colours. The cracks were still there underneath and now the paint is starting to fade.

I don’t think blizzard cares about xqc. He’s not an OW streamer he’s a variety streamer who would rather stream gambling than ow.

If blizzard needs his viewership they can just pay him to play ow2.

Wasn’t he a Winston main?

It was inevitable, really. Blizzard has gone out of their way to listen to literally everyone except the people who try to have fun with OW. As a result you now have a game that’s not very fun and no amount of shiny new paint will fix that. Like others have said, the honeymoon period for OW2 is over, and the game is even worse at retaining players than OW1 was a couple months ago.

Blizzard needs to start focusing on letting the game be a game, let there be fun and wacky things. Go back to what made the original game a smash hit and stop trying to force it into being something it isn’t.
