Hi all, after the Juno update I can no longer hear any voice chat on Xbox but when I switch to PS5 everything works fine. I’ve tried every guide and YouTube video I could find about voice chat in overwatch. I’ve already factory reset my headset and reinstalled the latest firmware to no avail and it seems to only be the Astro A50X that are having this issue. I’m not sure if it’s due to the headset being audio over HDMI and the microphone (I believe I’m not positive being over the USB connection) if anyone has any other suggestions i could try to get voice chat audio working again that’d be greatly appreciated.
Steps I’ve done were trying other headsets that are Bluetooth/aux connections and those worked fine, as I stated above I’ve factory reset and reinstalled firmware for headset and I’ve power cycled all of my devices. My microphone seems to still work no matter the headset just the audio from others does not pass into the headset no matter what settings I change both on headset and console.
I’m having the EXACT same issue. On Xbox. Astro A50. My teammates can hear me but I can’t hear them. Only started happening since the Season 12 update.
The only difference you and I have is that my headset is connected through optical cable, not HDMI.
I’ve never had this issue before and it’s definitely an Overwatch issue as every other game I play the voice chat works just fine. They really need to get this fixed ASAP.
I contacted support only to have them respond 12 hours later with a message that indicated that they didn’t even read the FIRST LINE of my message. Their response said “sorry about your connectivity issues” and then gave me a list of troubleshooting tips for connectivity issues ON A PC. It was frustrating to say the least.
Is this the support I can expect from Blizzard? If so, I’ll just stick with playing The Finals, PubG, and Marvel Rivals.
Yup, Astro A50s here. It’s some sort of issue with the A50s having to use optical cable, I think. I’ve heard of headsets with optical cables having issues in Overwatch in the past but I had never experienced it until the Season 12 update.
They need to fix it. I’m not replacing my $500 headset just for Overwatch. If it isn’t fixed soon then I’m just going to stick with PubG, The Finals, and Marvel Rivals when it’s released. This game doesn’t mean THAT much to me.
After some screwing around there is a way to be able to hear teammates while still using my regular headset(A50x) while on an alt account there was a couple times I could hear people while my headset was bound to a different account… Only issue is you can’t speak to anyone so sorta not a fix lol just figure id add that in that sometimes that can let you hear others as maybe it could help find a solution.
The problem we’re having isn’t with the network though. I’m on a home network and nothing on my network has changed. It happened the moment I received the season 12 update and it’s ONLY happening with Overwatch.
I’m on the Xbox series S and just bought the astro a50x and I thought it was just every game at first but I go to play other games and all of them were just fine I don’t know if it this is a just a OW2 thing or if this happens with other blizzard games
