XBOX STILL unable to join/spectate friends

Since Overwatch 2 released in late '22, the option to spectate or directly join a friend in the social/friend tab has disappeared for players on Xbox One and Series Consoles.

This affects the ability to join or spectate your friends in game regardless of whether they are on the same platform as you, or are using another console, ie PS4 and PS5.

However, this issue is not present on PlayStation versions of Overwatch 2. My friend (on PS5) can join me (on XSX) directly through the “join option”. If I want to do the same, the option isn’t even there, and neither is “spectate”.

The only way to join them is by waiting for them to INVITE, either externally through the Xbox system menus, or internally through the Overwatch Social tab, rather than the more convenient and fluid join option.

Surely this option has/was accidentally turned off at some point and has not been turned back on. It’s been nearly TWO YEARS Blizzard, can we get this fixed before the 2 year anniversary, or as a 2 year anniversary to us Xboxers?

Boosting! I can’t believe this is still a problem. Blizzard owes Xbox users a fix ASAP!

I can’t for the life of me imagine a legitimate reason why this hasn’t been acknowledged by Blizzard, let alone fixed yet. We are on season 12 now, and this has been an issue since OW was updated to OW 2.

You’d think the Microsoft acquisition would light a fire under them to bring the Xbox version back in line with the others. Clearly not.

It hasn’t been fixed yet. so frustrating that I’m completely unable to watch my friend due to a problem that should have been fixed years ago.
