Before the season ended, my current rank showed Plat 5 on support. When the season ended, I was rewarded Gold level rank rewards, and my final rank shows Gold 1, highest rank Plat 5 for the season.
I’m not sure if the rewards are supposed to be based off of the final rank or the highest rank; if it’s the final rank it’s unfair and misleading if the ranked system still runs in the background and doesn’t reflect as the current rank until you hit 7 wins/20 losses before the season ends, and if it’s supposed to be the highest rank then it’s a bug.

same, basically punishing you for playing the game, instead of camping a rank
Exactly, if I knew it would still update in the background without showing I wouldn’t have played at all, or if it actually updated and showed I had dropped I would have played more to try to get back to Plat. Just a bad system overall

Same happened to me and my wife, both plat when season ended, but then we get gold 1 ranked rewards, in what world should you be compensated less for more…
on my profile it showed gold 5 for tank but end of season claimed I was silver tank
In your Overview tab, do you see “Competitive Season 0” in place of “Competitive Season 1”? Mine is missing Competitive Season 1, and it ranked me back to where I started the last season.
Pretty sure many others are having this issue. I’m going to bump your thread so we hopefully gain attention to it.
I also had a lower final rank than the last rank I received. I went from silver 5 to bronze 1. Definitely not as bad as others who were higher up, but whatever is going on here is super frustrating, especially because I was stuck in bronze 5 until a patch at the very end of the season.
I saw another post speculating about the end stats being based on overall MMR, so if extra games were played but you hadn’t yet reranked, then you received the rank that you wouldn’t gotten based off of those games. If that’s the case, then that should have been made clear from the beginning.
I also wonder if it could be that they deranked us before giving out the end of season reward. Perhaps the end of season reward needs to be given before the patch for the next season begins.
Bumping this thread to say my last support placement was Masters 4, according to hidden mmr I finished Diamond 1, and I received the Diamond title and reward upon logging in. The exact phrase upon login is “The highest reward rank you’ve reached”, not “The reward rank you finished at”, so unless the game is lying and I never placed in Masters it makes zero sense that anyone should be receiving a reward tier lower than their highest placed.
That’s worse than me. My current and highest were both Platinum 5, but when I logged in, I was rewarded gold 1… I have screenshots as evidence.

It was always your highest rank earned. Several people, including myself are dealing with this issue.
