I’m not sure if any of you guys are experiencing it, but I think I might have the unique problem in which Hammond’s Pile Driver isn’t working for me.
What I did was go into the Practice Range to play with the new hero (who doesn’t :p) and for some reason, there was no key input for Pile Driver. I was trying every way possible in order to perform the the move, but to no avail.
Is anyone else having this issue? Because I feel it’s something that I should be addressed asap.
Works for me. Just left CTRL.
I’ve tried pressing CTRL but nothing.
Is there a boo-boo in the keybindings I’m not aware of? Because I can’t seem to find the binding for the Pile Driver.
EDIT: Turns out that restoring all of the keybindings to their default settings.
But control seems a bit tricky for me to get used to. I know my fingers are weird like that >_<
I tried resetting the keybindings to the default settings but it still won’t work. For me at least, the default of left control is crouch. The ability is just blocked out pretty much for me I can’t even hit the button to try and use it.
you are correct and there is no place currently to rebind the piledriver ability
yup~ I’m def having a problem with this. Is there a way to NOT reset all bindings. I have 5 or 6 which deviate from default.

I’m not having an issue using it, other than left control being a little awkward for me personally. I’m sure you’re aware but, just to be safe, for Piledriver, you need to be at least a certain height in the air to use it.
Thanks Val~ I think the issue might be related to the fact I have crouch bound to ctrl+1
I get the height, but when the piledrive lights up, doesn’t matter what I hit…
I does not work for me, either. I went into the practice range and tried messing around with the options commands and could not get Pile Drive to work.
What is “L3”?
Can you give a detailed, step-by-step explanation of how you fixed it?
Okay! I solved it: You must be at least 10 meters in the air in the ball form. Then hit LCtrl, or whatever key you have binded it for. I was in the practice range, went up to the send floor, rolled off and hit the LCtrl key and I got the “Pile Driver” to work. Try that, OP. Video: Wrecking Ball - Overwatch Hero Guide - YouTube
Lol, of course the pile driver only works from a certain height over ground. ^^
I agree that the duck key (LControl) is not the best solution, I rebound the skill to my middle mouse button, which is much more intuitive and easier to reach imho. Works well.
I see no way to activate pile driver (when I have reached the correct height) and I see no option rebind that function to another key. please help !

Search for the crouch key in the key bindings, usualy left ctrl. Pile Driver doesn’t have an actual separate key bound, it’s simply crouching. I have this additionaly bound to middle mouse button for Hammond. he does not crouch actualy but in the air it works well for Pile Driver.

Hey, guys! I had the same problem and after connecting my controller to see if it would work with that (which it did), upon further inspection I noticed that B on the controller was bound to ‘toggle crouch’, not ‘crouch’, which is what I had Lcontrol bound to. I did not notice the option for toggle crouch when I tried to fix this before, so I’m honestly not sure if the option may not have appeared there previously somehow. Regardless, after binding a button to toggle crouch, that seems to have fixed it; the button now appears properly where it’s meant to on the icon. Hope this fixes it for you guys!
I’ve only got this to work when i bind to “toggle crouch” not “crouch”
i don’t like toggles when gaming, it’s the reason i have mercy’s beam and soldiers sprint set to work on hold, not toggle.
But for some reason i have to set this on toggle not hold? (in before, but you can’t crouch with him anyway or you can change the keybind for just him")
I feel this is a bug, as it should respond to either crouch control

Piledriver seems worthless you can’t be right on top of them when you jump off. I read these bug reports and I can now get it to work but Not on the Enemy. I am to far away when it fires to hit the enemy. It needs to happen without jumping off a ledge.
