It’s not Blizz going to far in contrast to other ideas in the game.
It’s the fact it’s a STUPID HAMSTER!!! It literally plays to the dumbest, youngest crowd and is so cringy i can’t stand it!

I’m pretty sure the character that appeals to the youngest and dumbest crowd is still Reaper. An actual adult accepts that it’s okay to like cute things-- a bitter child only wants to like “cool things” like “a skeleman” or “a cyborg ninja.”

I think it’s not too far for blizzard, but the tonal shift is huge.
Winston is not a comedic character.
Widows backstory is very dark and sad
I can understand why people think a cute and fuzzy hamster is too much.
I think he is awesome, but his barely decent lore doesn’t bring much to the story.
Other then that, fun character.

Why are you so heated over a fictional character? You do realise this is an all ages game correct? We have silly characters like reaper, winston and dva because gritty and edgy is boring and overdone. We dont have gore or anything because this game is for children too or people who just wanna have fun.
Grow up seriously. Not everythings gonna be marketed only to you kid.

Him being added could honestly lead up to more information being shed on horizon lunar colony and junkertown. Not to mention interactions but thats just me.
Even if all we can change in the end is his name from STUPID miley cyrus to Hammond, i would be happy enough.
Coming from the person screaming over a video game character that doesnt 100% suit them

The last hero who had and will have rich lore is actually Moira.
Oasis, Blackwatch, Overwatch, Talon – she has been everywhere, is known by pretty much by everyone, lore gold mine.

Hammond probably aims more for adults than children… When you grow up outside of your teens you will understand, you stop caring what people think and become more comfortable with yourself. You start to enjoy more things that are fun than “cool” and “edgey”. Also girls like you more when you dont try hard.

True tho, Ive also noticed that not every hero is story heavy but their still pretty loveable (lucio, dva, junkrat and roadhog so far anyways)
