It seems clear now that she is Jiayi, Mei’s friend at the Lijiang Tower. Which no longer validates my “Hariett Oris” theory that I speculated a few weeks ago.

I think it could be interesting to have some eventual interactions on space by Sigma, Winston and Wrecking ball. Or… some info on some discoveries of climate anomalies in Mei’s data collection, the topic with Jiayi could be much more highlighted.
We may even finally be able to speculate when Lucheng Interstellar is involved with Talon or other controversial corporations.

Oh, we did mentionned her, just not in this forum (which is pretty dead nowadays)
If Space Ranger is really Jiayi, she would be the first hero teased by name in voicelines, and it seems… odd in a way.
Mauga was spoken about in a convo between Baptiste and Sombra without naming him, and Moira as “an old friend” by Reaper in Oasis.
It would make sense to say that SR is Jiayi because of the picture and Mei voiceline in Lijiang, but in the same time, it would be really unsubtle if she were?

I do not exclude that the same approach is also used for Emre Sarioglu, who is quoted several times in the book Declassified and is mentioned in a separate quote from Havana by Sojourn.
but I remember that Doomfist and Sombra were mentioned by Reaper before their release, but if you mean “first appearance of the name”… yes, I agree that Jiayi is the first.
