Would you support a return of Orisa 1.0?

So, there is an idea I’ve been trying to spread around that Orisa could use a (almost) full revert back to her original iteration.

Orisa 2.0 not only lost her identity as a protector, but she is also widely despised by the community. She is causing so much harm that several players are happy she got nerfed, not just a handful who disliked her. And if she gets buffed, there will be complaints again. A kit like this isn’t worth keeping in the game, in my opinion.

I propose they readjust Halt, replace her spin with her barrier, and replace Terra with Supercharger. We make sure we don’t bring back that self-inflicted slowdown when using her primary weapon, and see what we can do with Fortify.

I wanted to see what people think about this. Does this sound acceptable to you? How would you react if Orisa 1.0 were to return?

All feedback is welcome.

Considering I really loved playing Orisa 1.0(outside of double shield) I really would

That is good to know, friend!

Your idea sucks and you should feel bad. Hopefully that feedback was constructive enough. /s

In all seriousness, I would love a return to OG Orisa, brotha! She was one of my Sistah Spice’s favorite tanks and I prefer playing with, against, and as OG Orisa myself. Full disclosure: Orisa counters every tank I enjoy (the manly ones); however, to be perfectly honest, I have come to enjoy playing against Orisa. It might be Stockholm’s Syndrome speaking, but I genuinely would want her to return strictly because I miss her and not out of some weird spite for her current iteration even if Predator Orisa makes me cringe a bit compared to her sweet innocent protector personality.

I would take it a step further and argue that they should revert literally every single rework they have done in Overwatch 2. Yeah, I said it.

No, Orisa 1.0 is even more boring than 2.0

Yes, I miss that version

Personally I’d rather see an Orisa 3.0 that’s a combo of the two. They made the change because Blizzard is for some reason obsessed with faster gameplay and the idea of an anchor tank that’s an impenetrable wall that will always defend its team is sickening to them, so they came up with an impenetrable wall that runs directly into you and denies your ability to play the game. Javelin can stay, but spin should be turned into a shield charge. Same boop with speed boost, just no longer a “No” button and actually is capable of protecting her team in a push.

Heeeeeeeeell no, OW1 orisa was, somehow, more boring than OW2 orisa.

I don’t want Orisa v1 back personally. I played her a lot in OW1. And I enjoyed her. But Ramattra is basically a newer version updated of her. I don’t think her original kit as it was works well in 5v5 without changes like Ramattra. And there would be too much overlap. I also like her new kit too.

What I miss most was how her old bullets looked and also supercharger.

Im all for it!

I miss Orisa 1.0. Her Ult was one of my favorite Ults in the whole game. It really brought the feeling of team-based FPS to life. Her Ult was the Best :smiling_face_with_tear:

I will say thou I do enjoy using her spear. Can we keep that and make her Orisa 1.1?

I kinda like them both if I’m honest. Her shield was… fine, her pull orb thing was kinda weak most of the time (or at least, getting decent value out of it was hard for my skill level) and her original ulti didn’t feel like it often gave value.

I’d actually almost suggest that both should be a thing, and we could have two orisa options as tanks. Or even a “pick and choose” where you could decide which abilities you wanted, although ofc the balancing of that would be something

ETA: Actually, probably more of a binary choice of skills. Shield vs spin, fortify vs pull orb, whichever ulti. Ought to offer different playstyle options without being too impossible to balance.

Absolutely not. Orisa 1.0 was boring and would get mopped in OW2. Orisa 2.0 is way more fun

Hahaha, just the type of feedback I need c:

Anyway, I agree with you here, my friend. While I must admit I had fun with Orisa before her recent nerfs, I think her original power was even more fun and healthier for the game overall.

Yeah, I wouldn’t mind that tbh.

If it’s only a choice between the two, Orisa 1.0 all the way. She may have been partially responsible for Bunker, but they just need to make her barrier time out like Ram’s… or ignore it completely because nobody takes OQ seriously.

What bothers me the most is that her boingo is now a vestigial part of her character model that only has a use in highlight intros nobody sees, despite being included in every new skin she gets. Imagine Orisa’s mythic with new supercharge sound effects for boingo. That might actually bump it up to low B tier.

Idk, Javelin is nice.

But I think grav boop is better.

Shield is also legit.
I loved being able to post up with it and spray.

I also am a proponent that stationary bastion and self repair was PEAK bastion.

I actually have that highlight intro equipped. A little tribute, of sorts.

But I definitely understand your perspective here. I know for a fact I would choose Orisa 1.0 if given the chance.

I think the concept of terrasurge was good for OW2 earlier on, but I think it would be more beneficial for supercharger to make a comeback. I like the idea of bringing back barrier - maybe slight change would be to have it mobile - sort of like rein’s shield.

super charger remain the same as OW1, keep that spear throw thing and halt

I don’t like Orisa’s new kit even a little bit, but there’s a reason they changed her for OW2. You can’t have your tank parked behind a stationary shield for twelve seconds at a time if there isn’t also an off-tank to peel and chase on her behalf. The idea of an “anchor tank” as it existed in OW1 just doesn’t work in a solo tank environment, especially with the DPS and support cast shifting heavily towards mobility and self-sufficiency. Also, Halt was garbage.

But I would like to see Orisa’s abilities get reworked. I feel like her current design kind of just exists really hard, but doesn’t actually take space very well or protect her team. She needs something productive in her kit. Javelin, and the spinning thereof, are basically fine with some moderate tweaks, but Fortify is just obnoxious and doesn’t do anything that Javelin Spin shouldn’t already be doing.

I completely agree. Supercharger was very different from most ults, and I think that made it special.

I keep asking for an Orisa rework or revert, so yes. I prefer long Halt and Drums.
