Not joking. Serious question. If you could join a queue where a specific hero is banned permanently, how much would it be worth to you?
This wouldn’t cubbyhole the entire player base into small lobbies. It could easily work like this: You would ban only ONE hero in your own profile (like Sombra), and then tick all the other heroes that you allow to be banned by other players.
You would then be queued for lobbies where everyone else has ticked a box that allows Sombra to be banned, but a couple of other heroes might also be banned, and you’re OKAY with that, because you made those selections yourself.
That means all the Sombras, Balls, Dooms, etc, could pick their own hero whenever they want, but everyone who banned them would never see them again. How lovely.
I do wonder how that would affect team compositions. Would all the Sombra matches be full of people who banned Mercy or something equally silly, and then the’re pulling their hair out and banging their keyboard against the desk because they have to play Sombrawatch every single game?
Oh, and yes, Sombra did ruin 4 of my previous games in a row. Thanks for asking. And no, I did not lose. I won ALL 4 of them. Because this rat of a hero is in nearly every match now, and I’m hyper-focused on winning whenever I play against her. I’m straight-up not having fun.
The only time I like seeing a living Sombra, is when she is on my team, and successfully bullying an enemy Ball or Doom, who was a huge pain in that same match. So, only very specific circumstances.
Could we talk more about how great the world would be without Sombra?
