Would Tracer kill people?

I mean, blackwatch operation kills living people, and i guess it’s fine for gang member mccree, sociopath scientist, ressurected cyborg and vengeful psycho.

In uprising they shoot bots and nobody cares, but what would Tracer do (her first field ops) if those were humans? I don’t think S76 would even allow her to go though.

Tracer has horrible aim so she couldn’t land a lethal shot even if she wanted.

I doubt she’d kill people. Doesn’t suit her personality. I mean not even Hanzo kills people afaik.

Overwatch is supposed to be soldiers so I would hope she’d kill if it needed to be done, otherwise she’d be a really lame soldier

Its not that Blackwatch kills while the regular Overwatch doesn’t.

Ana wasn’t Blackwatch, and she killed so many people that it was making her sick. And I doubt that Tracer would hesitate to kill if it meant protecting the innocent.

Blackwatch was about doing the DIRTY Wet Work stuff that regular Overwatch was suppose to be above - assassinations, interrogations (read: Torture) and the likes. Tracer would definitely not fit in there.

She did throw an explosive straight at Widow…

To be honest if you go down this line of thinking, the entire game is nonsense.

They’ve got people with pulse rifles, rocket launchers, jet-powered hammers larger than a man - while also clinging to a PG rating

It’s simply lore question, without gameplay concerns. Some heroes have murder written to their lore (Roadhog and Reaper) some are not mention

Overwatch is soldiers. Any family-friendliness and gentleness is there mainly for the ESRB.

She’s one of those people that would kill, but only if she didn’t have to see it. She’d be totally happy shooting people down in the skies, but street level stuff she would probably think she’s too good for.

yes, she’s extremely evil, quite possible with split personality…

Omnics are supposed to be ‘equal’ to humans though, no ? At least that’s what peacekeepers are trying to do. So shooting an omnic should also be a crime?

He definitely does. I’m guessing it didn’t happen in whole “seeing the face” kind of thing which I heard from a podcast talking about stormtroopers getting confettied.

If you don’t see their face, they’re not human, which was why Finn took off his helmet and became human”. If the yakuza were masked, Hanzo would probably just shoot them straight in the chest like the Omnic, and unmasked Talon soldiers would probably make Retribution more mature

What? Hanzo was the leader of a criminal organization. Of course he has killed people. How else would he maintain power?

No, he was the HEIR to a criminal family, but he left after being forced to attempt the murder of Genji.

with every death comes honor, with honor - redemption

That is even better evidence that he is willing to kill. He tried to kill his brother.

And the reason was pretty flimsy too. “He’s just sort of lazy and doesn’t take things seriously, so I’m going to kill him.”

I wasn’t arguing against the idea that Hanzo has killed people. I was just correcting you.
The elders of the clan wanted Hanzo to eliminate Genji solely because Genji refused to abide by the clans desires of him leading with Hanzo. After the attempted murder, Hanzo rejected his father’s dynasty and went wandering. He was the pawn in a bigger act, so to say. I would imagine his family brainwashed him into thinking killing Genji would be a good idea.

So far we know:

  • Tracer was a military pilot. These kinds of jobs imply killing other people.
  • Tracer did not hesitate killing omnics, while knowing that they are sentient beings.
  • When she kills enemies in-game, she seems to have way too much fun doing so, borderline on psychopathy. PVP game is not canon, but voice lines are “what would’ve happen in this situation” so they all act in-character.

Probably she would not kill an innocent, but won’t even pause for killing enemy.
