Seeing as it was nerfed due to double barrier meta and the fact there is only one tank now, would it really too much to ask for his old shield back, especially considering he can’t do any damage while holding it up compared to other tanks?
If hes going to be this ultimate crusader, his shield shouldn’t feel like wet toilet paper
Yes, it would hurt really bad, taking forever to break his shield while his team shoot freely behind it

I remember suggesting this a while back, but it never got any traction.
I think if they were to do a shield bash they’d have to make sure it isn’t nearly as strong as Brigs considering the hitbox size is a literal rectangle.
It would be interesting to see, but I feel like there is other options that would make him more viable
…except 2000 barrier Rein couldn’t cancel or steer charge and only got a single Firestrike.
2000 might be a little extreme but 1500 wouldn’t be that bad if changed. It would allow him to be a lot more flexible against bastion.
Concern would be making him too passive. It’s not really a balance issue, but more of question of behavior. We want aggressive Reinhardts; not Reinhardt’s that sit on chokes all game.

Absolutely yes it would. He moves like twice as fast as he did when he had a 2000hp shield, he would take space too freely with that much shield HP
Don’t forget charge was neutered to do a mere 225 damage instead of 300, his ultimate critical hit reduced from 250 to 170.
Its just a lot damage trade off that doesn’t do well for his survivability
Counterpoint: Its hard to be aggro Rein when his shield basically melts the instant you try to close the distance. Any good Rein knows to shield dance as well, which is even more neutered due to its HP health.
And with no second tank ,thanks to 5v5, to offset Rein being a defensive bulwark, it means most of that focus is going directly into Rein at all times.

There are flankers in the game that counter that exact scenario, have been since 2016. Thats kinda the point of his shield
We have 700hp brig sheild
he needs reworked at this point. his shield is so useless at this point. soon as hes picked enemy normally goes bastion and soldier and melts his shield in 3 seconds. and he cant do anything else while holding it up. every other shield hero gets to just keep attacking.
I am okay if that shield never charges back.
