Worst game for a casual gamer

I’m not good. I’m an older gamer, been playing games for about 35 years now. I’m super up on the strategy and meta, but mechanics aren’t great. I generally love blizzard games for their approachability for a casuals like myself. This game is literally the worst experience I’ve had gaming. Just trying for the placement matches has been the most painful gaming experience. I find war zone and apex lobbies less sweaty than this. As a casual gamer I really enjoyed overwatch 1 because I felt if you stuck with your roll and had decent teamwork even lower skill players could find success. This has not been my experience with OW 2. Every time I log in to play with my nephew we end up grossly steam rolled. TTK is ridiculous, match making horrible (literally just throw me in the bottom of the heap that’s fine let me play with my fellow trash). Sorry rant over, but I tried to love it because of the fun I had with OW 1 but this has been the worst gaming experience of a long history of gaming.

This is what happens when a game appeals to the top 0.01% of players and focuses on eSports and competitive appeal, you squeeze out anything casual and make it as bland as the next eSports shooter.

I feel sorry for any new players who try to pick up ow2 for the first time.

That other stuff wouldn’t matter AS much if the matchmaking worked. Because you’d be playing with people around as capable as you. But it’s not. And you don’t. And it’s stupid. QP matchmaking feels like it’s closer than Comp, but that’s a low bar.

I swear it feels like they have a mandate that they CAN’T let queue times get over 1 minute or something, because corporate thinks that high queue times will be the death of the game, due to thoughts of OW1. But they must not consider that frustratingly garbo trash matchmaking is way worse. That, or whoever is in charge of MM is just… not great.

Me and my group of OW friends already found a new game because we were too sick of the stomps in either direction.

So yea, clearly MY gripe is the matchmaking.

I would love to be a Cs-GO players. It looks like less stressful and exhausting. The maps are greats buti have wasted to mmuch hours with OW to quit now.

what?? this game is really casual. a lot of tutorial heros can get massive value just for exists and you still can pick hardcounters to force the enemy swap just for exists.

Initially this game was awesome for casual gamer but they no longer care about us. All the care about is esports & battle-pass.

They are plenty too play. I been playing Riftbreaker & Sailing Era and they are pretty awesome.

Sorry but you shouldn’t queue for ranked if you want a casual experience

Something really needs to be done with the matchmaking.
Also adding solo only q is a necessity right now.

This game is far more casual friendly than many other competitive games. CSGO, Valorant and Mobas are practically impossible to play if you don’t treat them like a job.

You don’t have to be a T500 player to play OW. You can easily pick up heroes like Mei, Torb, Sym, Reaper, Junk, Hanzo, any tank, most supports, etc and do very well at your assigned elo.

Competitive games are not for casuals. Thinking that you still can play for fun in competitive mode leads you to what you claimed. Therefore, you can not play games like this just for fun, you need to work here to compete for that fun. Fun is only allowed if you are skilled enough. And that is not blizzard’s development issue it is an issue of inappropriate perception of where you get and what you do.

This is a result of the 5v5 format. Everything is much faster and way more chaotic.

Removing one person has removed a lot of structure. Either your 1 DPS is now expected to do damn well, you get one support which is asking for trouble, or you get one tank which means you’re only effectively countering who they think is the most important person (and if you get junker queen as you’re only tank then uh-oh).

Yesterday it was really sweaty, more than usually for a Week End. I don’t know what happened.

Haya!

Please try to Play in full squad (that should help a bit)
Me and my grup found Out that qp is more sweaty than should be. So I would recommend Playin Comp more than qp. I know Comp is all about rank and points but still matches are better than qp at this point

Trade offer
You wanna learn new hero, have fun
You get: hate from teammates, hard focus and counter, looseing game

Matchmaking for qp is still bad, for Comp is better (not always but mostly).
Qp mm is like one team balanced in same rank other team GM, diamond, t500, master and bronze for balance the whole match,
the game always is one way or another you get rolled od you roll them, I miss the ow1 fights where they take long time and fight is intense and you almoust win/loose just by something.
I miss the ow1 for that.

Using the word COMPETITIVE for the name of that mode doesn’t make it competitive.

There are no real rewards or reason to want to climb. So you get golden gun farmers who hate comp, and rank snobs who think players should only be listened to if they have a shiny icon and a title.

Maybe there was a time this was a competitive game but that time has passed.

This might be the crux of the problem. It’s little wonder that rolls happen more with bad matchmaking. It’s not just you experiencing it either, btw.

Technically you don’t need rewards for competitive, it just needs to rank or measure players.

I think ow 2 was definetly everything to appeal the casual gamers and its gine all wrong now

It appeals to “pew-pew” crowd, while casual playerbase is a lot more diverse and includes many players, who aren’t into “pew-pew”.
