Worst competitive scene of all time

GM Smurfs.
Hackers.
Throwers.
2-17 DPS partnerships.
12 minute queue times as support.
Tank anchors.
Counter swapping.
DPS supports.
An unbalanced matchmaker.
Wide rank ranges.

I’m not even shocked anymore. Worst competitive incentive I’ve ever seen in any multiplayer game.
Anyway, buy this $160 Kiriko skin.

Dude… have you never played COD? Or Battlefield? Or Apex Legends? Or PUBG?

OW is MILD compared to COD. Trust me man, there are far worse communities with hackers and such.

Comp was bad in OW1, and I can’t say I like much of anything better about OW2. Comp got worse with everything else.

Yes.
Completely irrelevant to my point. Just because X has this issue doesn’t mean that Y’s problem should be ignored.
Nothing burger comment.

You said it’s the worst ever. The fact that multiple other games have it as bad if not worse DIRECTLY run contrary to your argument. You didn’t say “these are the problems” but said “this game has the worst version of these problems ever”. Those are two different arguments.

Counter me then. I stand by what I said.
Another another burger comment. Two in a row. Forum users are so funny.

Except the moment your point was countered by listing other games that have it worse you moved the goalposts and wanted to change the topic. Your point was already countered and you tried to change the topic. It was shown to not even be the worst of the major games out right now.

Nah COD isn’t worst then this POS, in battle royale u avoid alot via the size of the map and on console I rather deal with xim then bitters. COD has way less throwers and is overall less toxic because this 1-2 bad actors don’t have as much impact as they do in a 5v5 direct engagement team shooter.

Have you ever played another competitive game? We’re winning by a lot as far as competitive integrity goes. Most of what you listed aren’t actually issues or don’t have anything to do with competitive integrity.

I see that you don’t like counter swapping or DPS supports, for example, but that’s just your preference. Those things both take skill and are good for the game. Would you rather you could just play any hero you want all the time? Or that supports were just healbots? The game would’ve died years ago if either of those things were the case like they are in most low-quality games.

My dude, CoD players drop racial slurs like they breathe to live. You can hear them on mic for a few seconds after you kill them, and I’m always amazed that they were able to clone the same 17-year-old kid who learned to speak from tik tok enough times to create an entire player base.

Also, throwers, griefers, hackers etc don’t matter in that game precisely BECAUSE it has no competitive integrity. You can run around and do whatever you want and still win as long as one guy does enough work for you. It’s fine as a mess-around-with-friends game, but it’s absolutely worthless as a competitive experience.

COD is competitive at its core tho, And it depends highly on the skill level of the lobby. OW has endless trolls at every elo which should be a thing. Not should you be able to boost an under performing player to high GM but you can…… Y…… Because the game doesn’t care if they under perform is someone carried the dead weight. The role player doesn’t get paid as much as a start in ANY COMPETITIVE SPORT

Duh. It’s almost like comp, owl, and owc we’re all forced into the community and nobody actually cares to see Overwatch become competitive focused. Most just want to play qp and work on the heroes they like.

Humans just suck in general. So dealing with them is frustrating.

Proof?

They did but you didn’t realize it.

Valid point, and there’s lots of players like me who avoid those games for those reasons.

It’s just a hard reality that OW will also be filed away into the historical queue alongside them.

I think OW competitive died when its OWL esports scene died. That’s because any esports scene is fueled by the high visibility of its star players in the top ranks of the ladder. Blizzard couldn’t see this because they hired some traditional sports suits to do OWL. I feel that this is wrong because you don’t need to develop talent from lower leagues in schools and universities (which is how baseball or basketball does it). Instead, just make pros qualify through ranking in the ladder.

TLDR They wanted to treat OW competitive like professional baseball or football, when it really isn’t.

12 minute support queues because no one wants to play tank and dps is really unfun right now

also, I think adding more competitive rewards that you could spend your points on would be nice, like new name cards, titles, highlight intros, etc.
