Worst balance change in history

Right? I think I played <20 games during that entire time and most of then just because the game is fun in premade stacks regardless of the circumstances, but without the stacks I probably would’ve not even played half of that. At the same time even though it was really horrible, I’m glad that it happened because now the devs know how horrible buffing his damage is so it will most likely never happen again

I dunno, I didn’t really have thoughts one way or the other towards Moth 2.0 meta since even though Mercy was broken, she was way more enjoyable to play with and against than back when she had mass rez as her ultimate. Maybe if she wasn’t the most passive hero in the game it would’ve been a completely different story, but just because of that passive aspect of her the unfair advantage wasn’t as crushing as it was with Brig or Sigma 1.0

Oh and let’s not forget Bob, a literal 9000dps turret, being able to capture/contest objectives. Wtf is that?

Oh god yeah, the fact that they buffed his ROF before, then his dmg to 30, AND his spread was just hilariously broken. Meanwhile… reaper loses like… was it 40dps? for a spread reduction.

Oh for mercy, I don’t really remember it sucking enjoyment out of the game, that was mostly junkrat because he was OP and I was lower ranked
I just think mercy rework was the most OP thing to ever exist. And the fact that they even CONSIDERED ptr valk was just… mind boggling!

Brig was pretty annoying also, 5s shield bash stun which went through shields, 250hp, 600hp barrier, insta heal repair pack… ew!!!

Luckily with sigma, although annoying and billions of barriers, a LOT of people sucked with him  like they couldnt aim his primary fire or rock if their life depended on it.

Original nerf was suppose to be uppercut recovery from 0.2 to 0.5 seconds. They changed it after the entire community(not just the doom players) criticized this nerf. I wasn’t on forums but I’m sure many threads that week were all probably mainly “doomfist needs to be dumpstered, he deserves it” threads or “these nerfs are ridiculous” threads lol

Here’s getquakedons video on it

thank you! i didn’t know it was originally gonna be 0.5 seconds, that would’ve dumpstered him

Yea nah the original nerf was terrible but i had barely started playing doom before he nerf. I think the nerf was literally like a month after I got the game so I barely know how the 0.2 second recovery felt only the 0.35  ig 0.35 seconds feels cleanish but if I had to describe it It’s like if somethings missing a pixel(I know that don’t make no sense but bare with me here lol).

When they gave McCree 25 extra HP.

Cree getting 225 HP is definitely up there for me. I stopped and am still not having fun with this game with him having 225. It’s frustrating.

Agreed. Too many situations where cree lives with like 14 hp left, kills me, get healed and kills like 2 other people on my team it honestly makes me want to rip my hair right off my head

The Bastion Ironclad buff that was live for less than a week.
Boy could eat Ultimates.

That was what went to live. On the PTR it was originally 0.5s

Do you guys remember launch Brig and Sigma?
Ah, good old days.

Idk man, release Brig was insane and also caused a mass quitting.

When they increased Sigma’s barrier repositioning cooldown

The jjonak nerf where 1 player was too good at landing headshots on snipers as zenyatta so they nerfed zenyatta…whome was a throw pick for months after that.

Cutting D.Va’s matrix down to 10m and setting the cooldown to 2 seconds was one of the worst changes and hit D.Va so hard that for all practical purposes she was deleted from the game. She fell below Sombra and Bastion to be the least played hero in the game despite 222 and having only 7 competitors vs the 14 for Sombra and Bastion did.

The changes were so extreme that you could easily feel how absurdly weaker she was than any other tanks, but it still took 2 years for her to be playable again. Crap like that is why OWL should not be a influential as it is for determining balance changes and why Blizzard balancing is a joke.

You would think that if they had an extremely popular hero in an extremely unpopular role they would at the very least try to keep that hero in a playable state.

the Reaper increased range and lower damage

like what… he can’t compete with the other heroes with range and even longer range, give him back the one good thing he had going for him lol

I still think the Mercy rework was the dumbest change they ever made. Not only because it was such an OP monster that broke the game for a few months, but because it signaled that they weren’t really listening to their community anymore, with both the Mercy main backlash AND all the people pointing out that the rework would be wildly unbalanced being ignored.

Nonsense. I never had an issue being on fire with gold stacks using 1.0 sym. The extra turrets and team shield stacks were pretty amazing, not to mention her primary fire could leash to enemies making it super easy to juke and kill even the slipperiest of enemies.
