  • If South Korea wins, they will clinch their third World Cup finals. They are not necessarily eliminated if they lose (depending on the results of this match and Chinese Taipei vs. Finland after this match.
  • Russia must win in order to remain in contention for World Cup finals. If they do win, but take any map losses, Finland's odds of retaking 2nd place in their match will increase.

Overwatch 2018 World Cup Rules

  • Match plays a minimum of four maps. A fifth map is played if the match is tied at the end of the forth map.
  • The initial Control Map is predetemined in advance by the tournament. Second Map is Hybrid. Third Map is Assault. Fourth Map is Escort. Fifth (tiebreaker) Map is Control.
  • In succeeding maps, the losing team of the previous map selects the map. Winning team selects the side.
  • All maps currently available in Overwatch is eligible to select from.
  • Overwatch World Cup group stages will be played on version 1.26 (Wrecking Ball Release) and all heroes are eligible for use.
  • Top two teams from each group stage with the highest match record with map differential will advance to the World Cup finals at BlizzCon 2018

Sombra has been an effective (but not mandatory option against “goats” comps and against Wrecking Ball specifically.
