There are better brawl tanks with more staying power, but if for some reason nothing is working she is ok against Orisa and Dva, that’s about it
She’s a pubstomper so if you’re in the metal ranks, might as well learn her because people will charge you and you will simply not die because of her steamrolly design

Does the enemy team have a dva? And do you have a brig?
Otherwise shes alright and great into Orisa.
They actually keep buffing her thinking shes “Bad” but shes actually fairly balanced tank that dosen’t need any changes tbh.

She suffers from ranging from terrible in some ranks to an absolute demon in others. She’s almost always been like this though aside from I think one early season I didn’t play where she was meta, they don’t really know what to do with her.

I mean when “Stop shooting the bubble” is the counter and you have people that know when not to and people who just shoot it no matter what I can understand why its so hard to balance XD.
If you buff her to where she gets charge virtually no matter what basically like that earlier season you were talking about then she just starts dog walking everyone.
Winston is her only real “counter” amongst the tanks. And he’s really good right now.
Really depends on whether or not Zarya players play greedy or actually play with the team and utilizes their barriers for team play. She still dominates when played like a proper team player.

Agreed.
I only play Zarya when I tank and if I stick with the team I can do a lot more than of I played like other tanks “pushing” the line. She pushes with her team.
She’s on such a good place right now, Besides Winston, I’m worried they’ll overbuff her at this rate and we’ll have season 1 all over again.
Zarya was the first tank I played, and pretty much learned how annoyingly broken Tanks can be when covering other Tanks.
Sure, it was fun when my static needed me to bubble up my team’s Pharah for a Gravity Surge Barrage combo. But when I started solo-ing as Zarya, it became incredibly rewarding when I started using Projected Barrier on my co-tank D.va who loved to dive in on enemy teams.
And that was before 2/2/2.
Current situations where I can find Zarya useful is when I’m playing with team mates that are willing to be in front or perform a flank, and most of the time I’m not able to get a whole lot of players willing to do that. Many of them would play artillery, so either I hang back further (not advised), or Zarya just feels a little less useful, and Junker Queen just feels better in this case.
Usually this happens on defense; and I haven’t gotten a chance to play too many Clash games yet as Tank, to really get a sense if Zarya would good here like she is on King of the Hill maps like Nepal and Lijiang.
I just wish I could get players to hold, or communicate like they used to when it comes to using Gravity Surge combos. Can’t get that anymore.
Zarya at Low ELO is too strong… is now in 70% of the matches… she is either or the first choice or the last choice for the win.
Shes my main, I made GM playing zarya. It comes down to your own skill to be honest. Shes weak against range heroes and shes pointless when facing ultra mobile heroes. She thrives at close range and dive because her bubbles can deny anyone diving her team and of course she melts at full charge. You can play zarya into almost anything, her ult is really good if you actually combo with it. I know people say rein wrecks zarya but I beg to differ, if you have even one dps shooting at the rein, you are gonna keep the rein on the defense and you can charge up whenever he tries to hit you with your bubble. Unless the reins team is hard focusing you, facing agaisnt a rein only slows zarya down, not really counter her.
Zarya is in a weird spot right now where she isn’t bad but she’s not good either at least in ranks diamond and up. Both Winston Reinhardt are two tanks that counter her well and are currently really strong at the moment.
I’m not sure why I don’t see her enough. Especially with the pickrate Dva has had for the past few seasons.
If I get a good Zarya I’m pretty happy. A mercy pocket while shes charged going brrrrr seems to melt almost everything
