For people that are not in the High Elo where they are amazing and they can counter everything…
Without a hard counter to widow, its usually always a lose. What can you do?

Hope the tank and dps counters them. if they are stubborn then gg.
You mostly just dive her or use damage mitigation to prevent the one shot assuming you refuse to counter snipe. There are heroes from every class that can manage either playstyle. The best counters are Ball, Sombra, and Lucio respectively.
Tanks doomfist is good if they don’t run brig or sombra .
Like they can literally be on you constantly

Yep. I have literally never been worried about Widowmaker even if she is a Smurf on XIM. Like, who cares? I am actually more afraid of forcing them off Widowmaker, actually.
I understand high ranked players hate her because she gets a ludicrous amount of peel and all that jazz, but that’s just not the experience most people are dealing with if we are being entirely honest.

Also yesterday was mythic release, in sg our widow hs server has been dead since ow2 first few seasons, yesterday it was active , i think it ran on jpn server still it was nice after a long time.
And guess what lasted 6-8 hrs it’s dead again.
Once the skin hype goes down you will see less atleast in comp.

Sombra isn’t the only counter Widow has.
But if you are still adament at wanting to throw your games by picking Sombra, then this new rework makes it easier to get rid of her due to the 20% damage increase against hacked targets.
Even that is just extreme bias by those who don’t hitscan ranged heroes.
Like yes she is very oppressive in those maps and for those few mins till you break out.
But mostly she is feast or famine even in the best of hands and most ranged players like the duel.
Yesterday was a blast in widow hs.
Even did a no crosshair on scope run , had to use for SMG for grapple.

I see more Ashes than Widows, I hate both
Sombra was a problem for all Widows except in the high ranks, the only place where she truly can be a problem.
In most ranks, players have many good options against widow, but apparently most do not want or can’t use them so they need a busted hero that ignores all rules of Skill.
Most Widowcomplains are rooted in having a Skill issue.
I hate Sombra with a passion, but she did not deserve such a treatment. In fact, no character deserves such a treatment. Every hero has a fan base and they must not have their hero destroyed.

Sombra not really good to counter anymore. You have so limited time in stealth to get to Widow.

Be aware of her, that is a good start. If no-one is willing to go take her down then hope you can work as team, keep each other safe and avoid her line of sight.
There are a lot of Widows who are technically very skilled, but lack imagination and cunning, which makes them more of a burden for their team if they can’t score kills by accuracy alone. Then there are those who change positions and outsmart the enemy team, those are the dangerous ones.
I had a small showdown recently in King’s Row, enemy team was attacking and Widow was waiting for spawn doors to open. I was playing as Mei, noticed her, aimed and shot two icicles => instant kill and they switched characters. Awareness was the key.
