Winstreak buggy

Ok its official…

Win win win, loss, win, win (winstreak), Draw, win (winstreak)

I shouldnt get a streak after a loss. I shouldnt get a streak after a draw.

Do young folks still say “FACTS”?

It’s a window of recent games, so its working as expected.
You can have a loss or two between the wins.

Winstreak isnt a perfect word, they call it “win factor” internally.

Thanks… and yes “win streak” is terrible wording. They called it win factor, everyone knows internally as win factor. But let’s call it win streak…

Some more notes:

Mmr should never outrank group size.

Ranks were “broken” before season 9. - what caused it?

Draws SHOULD change something. Underdogs broke the prediction and expected broke the prediction.

Long answer when to play… match quality is at the best in the beginning. Later in the season is less predictable outcomes….?

On the last point, if the end of season is less predictable and match quality goes down, what’s that mean for folks who play ALL SEASON?

Makes sense.

These things are usually a case of misunderstanding, rather than something actually being wrong.

Misunderstanding usually a case of poor communication.

“a failure to understand something correctly.”

It is a two way thing. Take responsibility for your side.

Yeah you shouldn’t. Bit weird how it isn’t the case.

I didn’t disagree with you, I did in fact misunderstood. Yes, I misunderstood the concept of winSTREAK modifier.

But unlike you, I didn’t just stop at level one, I dug a little deeper. Why did I misunderstood. Ahh the word usage is wrong, they even admitted it. Words are used in communication. I misunderstood due to poor word choices.

It’s that easy.

It was all explained in the talks, interviews and Dev updates. So, yes it’s a poor name, but it’s all been explained.

Explained everywhere but the actual game. Great communication strategy. /s

I wouldn’t even blame them for a hotfix just for that.

I get your unhappiness with that. But the best UI is clear and clutter free. Something OW is a million miles from being. It doesn’t need more information.

This is where you have blog posts, news articles and information on your website to help players. Keep the game client clear of that stuff where possible.

Well, I don’t disagree with the extra mediums for extra info. I don’t disagree with not needing more screens. I do think whatever words that are there already can be reworded.

For once, I agree.

But it is what it is, and it is fairly clear to those who want to micromanage these things and keep an eye on it every game.

I just had a 8 game win streak + uphill battle and it was only good for +24%. What is the point of these “modifiers” if it’s just going to be the same standard +24 SR for a win as in ow1?

Most of the draws I see are from when someone never leaves spawn and the game is cancelled. Counts as a draw in your history.

What’s funnier is people thinking the modifiers are something new.

Why does it give the same scores as ow1… Probably because it’s the same as ow1.

So you are saying modifiers are cosmetic? So it doesn’t matter if I was an underdog in my match or not? It doesn’t matter if I am on a lose streak or a win streak? If so why are they in the game?

Nope. Just that they’ve always been there. You now just have a name to them.

That doesn’t make sense because +24 for a win was standard in ow1. In ow1 I could get anywhere from +16 to +31 SR for a win depending on PBSR and whatever other hidden factors you claim were in the game. Now I can clearly see 2 reasons why I should have gained more than the average but I still gained the average amount. Are you really this obtuse?

I’ve also seen myself and others lose more than 45% for a single loss. Which would not have been possible in ow1. They are not using the same system.

25 was the base standard. But yes.

After season placements, you would commonly see slightly bigger changes. I won a game yesterday and went up 62%. First and last time this season I will be looking at what it does.
