Winston/Orisa is the best tank duo

Finally getting out of Diamond on PC, only 3 games away from Masters, and it’s all thanks to me finding a Winston to duo with, while I play Orisa. We are rolling every game and haven’t lost.

We call it the “Jungle B0ng0 Combo.”

Orisa pull + Winston jump pack

Orisa pull + Big tesla damage

Primal Rage and Fortify save us from things like Grav or Shatter or big burst DPS ults!

2 shields so teammates don’t complain.

Counters annoying heroes like Doom/Genji/Tracer

Annihilates hitscan with both close and long range pressure.

Enables both dive and long-range dps in your team.

Orisa gets free pressure because Winston is tanking most of the damage while she keeps her supports safe. And it also forces the enemy to look both ways.

Also for when we really want to assert dominance we play the “Dive Cattle” where we both jump in aggressively. Who needs a D.va when you can have Orisa with fortify free from the dangers of headshots, a great gun and a free pull for tesla? Literally walk into them with the monke, they’re ALWAYS so lost haha.

If they focus monkey, he can disengage while Orisa switches in for the frontline. And if they rush Orisa, she’s far away so they have to commit resources and monke is left alone in the backline farming everyone with a DPS or two alongside him

The reason we prefer it to something like Rein/Orisa is because Winston peels better and contests high ground. And his damage is consistent. Very little downtime

Now what are the support you’re running with this though? And the DPS

I feel like any 2 main tank users are powerful innately because double shield is still a powerful concept. Skill play still has immense value and 2 tanks playing well show that off really well too as it empowers the whole team.

Its sort of like how double main healing (mercy, moira, bap, ana) is always a strong default combination. No innate weaknesses until enemy teams start doubling down on particular effects.

Out of all possible team combinations double shield and double 50-70 hps per shot units is able to weather a large deal of BS in the game.

I’d imagine Lucio/Bap, with the DPS depending on the map and whether it’s attack or defence.

Could see a mercy getting used to amp up the Winston stuff.

We’ve gotten all kinds really. From Zen/Mercy to Ana/Lucio…. Bap is good too I bet, though we haven’t seen many.

As for DPS we’ve had all sorts except Bastions or Torbs really

I’d be thinking Lucio to help speed Orisa up when she gets aggressive, and Bap helps monkey and can easily float in-between.

As much as I love Jungle B0ng0 Combo…I’m also fond of calling it, “Jungle B0ng0 Congo”, or Jungle Fever if you have Ana and/or Zen. Cause you know, discord and anti nade sickness

Honestly orisa is such an underrated pick. Another hero she works brilliant with is rein too. Halt + fire strike is insane, and she can actually function similarly to a zarya with her fortify and high DPS. Plus her halt works great with rein hammer for cleave.
