not implying in any way Winston is imbalanced, just pointing out that even though Winston does what he’s set out to do, some Winston players can just boil my blood and frustrate the living daylight out of me!
A good Winston player will ruin your game and make you throw your headset out of tilt (speaking for a friend

Winston was a beautifully designed hero. Depending on team skill he is definitely my favorite tank to pair with.
And what’s nice is he doesn’t teeter on the edge of feeding/carrying as Hog or Ball do.

have seen many Reapers get styled on by Winston’s thunderdome of doom playing peekaboo on the payload.
Dude I consider myself a pretty decent DPS for my Elo (recently reached diamond on my main) and I get dunked on by good Winstons as Reaper.
It’s literally not that simple (just go Reaper). Yes but not exactly. If the enemy Winston has a good support player or coordinates a dive on Reaper you can’t do much if they j-bait your cool downs.
Because as I always tell people in my games. Good winstons know how to avoid the reaper and shield dance when needed

Winston on his own, if good, can kill anything (true of all chars but still), shield dancing boils my blood, and it’s even worse when he jumps me (Reaper) with a Dva DM on me, literally nothing can be done lol.

It’s a game of either waiting for bubble to disappear and hope you have a support around for you to be healed during wraith and also hope DVa burns her D-matrix during this time (happens often) or when you get out of wraith wait just long enough for DVa to flick D-matrix and turn it off and hope you land the double headshot on Winston in that exact moment or die a humiliating death to which they flame you in chat.

Again, Winston is a beautifully designed tank. The buff to his bubble is a little frustrating since it’s more resources to bust it but it was definitely needed. Beyond that… I think they should up his m1 damage by like 2 or so per second. That would be huge actually…

100% agreed, but in RQ, how are you supposed to swap from Reaper or any dps to a Roadhog, it’s so frustrating!
Its doable, but not easy. What you have to do is pick reaper and then feed. Eventually, if you feed enough, reaper will get fat and turn into roadhog

I take Winston over Ball any day. A decent Ball will make you cry for your mama.
When that happens is usually because nobody shoots his bubble. In high elo they destroy it instantly but in low elo it may as well be a Rein shield sometimes. If you really wanna counter him at the expense of being countered by the rest of his team go Bastion.

Hog used to be the counter to Winston/Dva, before hog was nerfed (100% thanks to smurfs dunking in low ranks).
If a Winston is still alive when he jumps in then one of 3 things is happening.
Winston alone can’t do anything. Against most heroes he’s got a major disadvantage without primal. He’s best at going in at off angles and catching people off guard. To say he’s oppressive is just a flatout lie. To say he’s oppressive when backed by X heroes is true, same can be said about many heroes.
A good of any hero is oppressive. Even Symmetra or Sombra, surprise surprise
