His damage is still ow1 weak and his ult still sucks, I figured they would rework or buff his ult since there’s only one tank but nope. I started playing him for the meme but he actually needs buffs
I’m bronze, and even I think he’s fine where he is. He jumps in, zaps, jumps back, get healed, drop a shield somewhere in one of those intervals, repeat the cycle.
Oh he also has that cool right click fire now that catches those pesky running Moiras and Tracers.

His ult is amazing for displacement and in my experience there’s nothing that melts him
Damage wise yeah he’s pretty weak but he also doesn’t really die, unlike dva who… dies

If you can use it effectively, winston has one of the strongest ults in the game.
He’s not meant to be a hard hitter, he’s meant to be a harasser. If he got a damage buff, then literally every low mobility hero would never be played because everyone would just pick Winston the moment they saw said low mob hero. In the lower elo’s he would dominate and that would make an abysmal experience for Bronze to Gold.
Also, his ultimate is great for knocking people out of place or in general, off of the map since the knockback is ridiculous.

He’s a situational tank. If the other team has snipers, Genji, Orisa/Zarya you can dominate as Winston. Once they swap to Reaper, Bastion, Dva/Hog you have to counter pick them.

He is a pretty high skill tank who performs really well or not depending on their synergy with their team. Certainly not the best ladder pick, but for example the pro play games today, he was probably the most picked tank.
Good Winston’s get so much done with that ult. Highest skill ult in the game, I wish I could juggle people the way some Winston’s do.
He’s more of a jumper than thrower.
If they gave him more damage he’d probably be one of the most busted heroes in the game. He’s already tanky and high mobility + has defensive utility, couldn’t imagine how obnoxious he’d be if he had high DPS along with it.

He is more of a throwpick than Hog, but not as bad as Zarya. For ladder, at least. He has traditionally been good in tournament.

Winston is exactly where he should be. If he feels weak then it’s because other things need to be nerfed around him.
